   When you look at the Habs core vetran players, Koviu,Kovalev,Rivet,Souray, these guys are all starting to age, and are close to moving out of their peak years, so does that push Gainey to go for it right now and sign one elite level player which may handcuff him in terms or future salary cap space, or take a more moderate approach and perhaps try to gradually upgrade in a couple of different positions with less pricey ufa's? Keep in mind that next season, Rivet,Souray and Markov are all ufa's.

Well I think that Savard will be costly now since he had another breakout season, that guy is awesome. But I think that one costly star player would help us during the season and give us what we have been missing in our last 3 playoff runs.
