I don't think so, but everyone seems so ready to pounce down his throat today

reminds me of another familiar situation...

Good point brooky. The kid had not played in like 3 months..what do they expect? When you put all your eggs in one basket and the basket falls, sometimes you end up scrambled. Edmonton put all of it's hopes on one goalie. Carolina at least has Gerber who has not looked too shabby when they need him. You go the last couple months sitting a guy on his a$$ on the bench and then stick him into playoff game..you end up with what you saw last night. And as you stated., Rollie blew the 3 goal lead, not TY.

I wouldn't even blame him for that weird goal.  The defenseman mishandled the puck and let Brind'amour blow by him without even a wave.

What other situation does it remind you of?  Steve Smith/Grant Fuhr back in the 80's?

I don't blame him either but poor Ty Conklin, im my opinion he will look horrible if he's in nets, I've seen this guy in the season, his not that great lower than Aebischer.

Sad thing is, it isnt even Ty's fault, Smyth did a terrible job at letting Ty know where he was....it deflects off Ryan and goes out infront and by that time Rod had put the puck in already...MArkannen will be in net for game 2....
