What is up with the rumors about Mario Tremblay joining the Habs' staff as Ass Coach? Ass is just an abbreviation for assistant or is it? Can you tell I'm not to keen about the rumors?
Seriously though, I have nothing against le bluet but why bring in someone who created such a soap opera while he was head coach? I just feel that Roy wouldn't of been traded when he did if he wasn't the HC. Tremblay was part of what started Mtl's downward spiral and now that the organization has seemed to get their act together, he's even being considered?
He says he's accumulated so much experience assisting Lemaire in Minni. Good for him...It's not about recycling anymore, it's about new blood.

Yes thats it!!! Lets hire every guy who has limited coaching experience but wore a habs uniform!!! What about Chris Nilan for a "Penalty Box Coach"? Yannick Pearreault for a "Face Off Coach". And let us not forget Mats Naslund who can be our "European Players Coach". Guy Lafleur can be our "Hair Club for Men Coach".We do not need any more ex habs players with limited coaching experience behind the bench. I appreciate and applaud the loyalty that this organization shows its retired players but geesh boys..stop making decisions based on sentiment and start making them on common sense.

lol...so I take it that you are against Tremblay joining the club...great post Barry
Hehehe..and no this has NOTHING to do with CJ and everything to do with common sense. I woudl just prefer to at leats have one guy back there as an assistant who is a proven x's and o's kinda guy.A proven strategist who knows the in's and outs of the game. I have no doubt that Carbo will be great at motivating the guys and brings alot to the table because of his background. But I did feel that many times in the season and in the Carolina series that Gainey showed a lack of experience and made alot of mistakes. Why not put a guy back there to help these guys out and be the strategist?

Sadly, Roger Neilson is no longer with us.............

Who might you suggest? CJ is gone so move on. Gainey and Carby did a fine job considering the problems that existed behind closed doors. Lets remember that althought the Habs were eliminated in the 1st round, with any luck at all, we might have been going to the final round. I'm sure that BG will make the right decisions in concert with Carby and company-------lets be patient.

I'm with you on this one...NO TREMBLAY!
I prefer the Muller rumour but agree with Barry, we need experience.
I know who I would like to see the Habs hire....Ted Nolan......and I'm not even sure if he is available or not. He did an awesome job when he was with the Sabres a few years ago and it seems as if he has been blackballed from the league or something. I think he would make a great assistant for Carbo.
I don't want that goof anywhere near this team. Especially now since we've apparently rounded the corner. If a player shows too much leadership and looks threatning, the idiot may want him traded.
Another one of those events that ive only heard of and was too young to actually live for myself...but ive read enough on the Tremblay/Roy saga that i understand why hab fans would be pissed at tremblay....

I dont care WHO they put back there!! Just someone who has some experience!!!!!!! Maybe a guy who is a head coach in the AHL right now who wants to get his feet wet in the NHL, or an assistant with an NHL team elsewhere. And by the way, if you read my post I believe I said this has nothing to do with CJ. So buddy I do not think I need to "move on". I do not believe that hiring a bunch of guys with limited coaching experience who just happened to wear a habs jersey one day is the answer.

Anyone who saw the looks exchanged between Roy and Blue-boy that fateful night when Saint Patrick played his last for the B B&R would never want Tremblay around again. You don't motivate players with hatred and ill will. Tremblay always thought he was Michel Bergeron reborn, but in fact he was Michelle Shocked.
Seems to have worked quite well for Edmonton........Mactavish and Huddy are doing quite well with limited experience. Think about what Jim Rutherford said about the Habs coaching this year during the playoffs. I believe that Jarvis has coaching experience- correct me if I am wrong there. "The move on" statement was just that, I was and still am a strong supporter of CJ, I knew him as well when he coached in the "Q" and have spoken to him on numerous occasions over the years. I am sorry he is gone, he ain't coming back to MTL and it's a shame that he is gone, but I'm movin on. Oh and by the way buddy(Barry) ...you can address me as Fatherhab. Gainey and Carby have the pulse of this team, and I for one support them.
Newfie -- I can't imagine that Larry Robinson would want to return to the Habs organization -- especially as an assistant. But boy would I welcome that news. He was certainly one of the best D-men ever to wear the B B&R, and a pretty good coach in his time as well. Imagine a defensive corps trained by him. Huet would be a lot less busy...
I dont think a coach is what Huet needs to be less busy...maybe some DEFENSE. Im sorry but montreal is Average at best in almost all positions...including Coaching....
