while i agree that edmonton is a speedy team i would argue so to are the ducks ,maybe moreso than edmonton , i didnt see much of that series but did watch anahiem vs colorado and they were flying . i believe every gm now see how the new nhl will be played and go accordingly.

Yes, I agree to a point...team speed is an important factor; however, a balanced team filled with speedy players and big/tough players are what will equal success in the future. If I look at Buffalo, which is probably the quickest team, they can be stopped with a "modern day" trap. Carolina is surely giving them problems.

A consistent aggresive style of play may be more important than speed.

You could have the fastest skating team in the league and i almost guarentee you that a cup wont be the easiest to get. I personally feel that it is chemistry of the team that really makes them how good they are. When i team plays the same system and their roles, under an effective coach, they are hard to stop. And are you suprised at all and any of the 4 coachs who made the final 4?? Im not! these teams bought into their coachs system and it is working. The best possible stanely cup final will be Buffalo vs Edmonton. Carolina is good.,...but they crash the net too much...really dirty hockey...
