Thornton and Peca

Talk about a reversal of fortune. Thornton has an mvp regular season after being traded by the Bruins to the Sharks. Peca gets off to a bad start in Edmonton, to the point that he is playing on the fourth line. Come playoff time, the roles reverse. Thornton  ends up a minus 4 in the playoffs, and has virtually no production from game 3 onwards in the series against Edmonton. He looks like the guy he was in Boston where in 7 playoff seasons he helped the Bruins win exactly one playoff series. Peca has played his typical gritty style in the playoffs and elevated his play. Thornton has all the great stats in the regular season but does not deliver in the playoffs. Peca never has the big stats as his game is total different, but is a more imposing player come playoff time. Given their records, if you were looking for sucess who would you rather have?

Thornton....we already have guys on our team who are gritty and do pecas job. We need someone who can score regularly. personally...i think the reason thornton was shut down is he was out matched by pronger....but i do however agree that he isnt much help in the playoffs...unless your the other team.
