Have to give Brian Burke the Ducks Gm a ton of credit. After getting a raw deal in Vancouver, where he turned that team around with great drafts and trades that brought in the likes of Jovanovski, Morrison and the Sedin twins amongst others which contributed to Vancouver improving their point totals 5 years in a row. Burke moves to the Ducks, and quickly makes a series of major moves that have contributed to Aneheim getting into the western final. He gets rid of a popular coach in Babcock, brings in Carlyle to coach, trades away Federov,Sykora,Rucchin and Leclerc in a series of unpopular trades. Makes a great free agent pick up in scott Neidermeyer, acquires his brother in a trade, and makes several low key deals and now the Ducks have a nucleus of Lupul,Penner,Getzlaf,Beuchemin and Bryzgalov all those guys are under 25!
Always admired a famous Burke quote: hockey is a man's game, the team with the most real men wins. Seems like Burke knows how to build quality teams, hopefully our gm can do the same.

Why did Montreal get rid of Beuchemin? People were raving about this guy and now he is proving everyone right. What did Montreal get for him? Was this a BG decision?
Yes, the Ducks are impressive and great to watch, although I'm still taking a stand against teams based in Orange County with Disney nicknames. Go Edmonton or San Jose! Even the Sharks have real hockey fans in comparison.

and same goes for the Carolina Hurricanes. Living in Connecticut I've met quite a few former Whalers fans. Not too many 'Canes fans among them. Boy are they bitter! And for good reason. They were absolutely screwed by an opportunistic, dishonest owner. The irony is that in the new NHL a Hartford franchise would probably do fine. Lots of hockey people around here.
Go Buffalo! (er...Ottawa, but I don't think that'll happen)
