You posted a thread a while back re: the eagles nest in BC that I got hooked on. Unfortunately I read that those Eagles had left the eggs a few days ago & (I think) the babies have passed on (never actually hatched)
They have set up a new camera on another nest close by & the eggs have hatched... I just watched 5 mins of the Mama feedin' her babies. It was sooo sweet... they are little grey puffballs.
Thought I'd let you know in case you weren't watchin' them anymore. For those who haven't seen it yet... here's the link...
I'd been watchin that myself. Too bad I missed the hatching. The ladies found it impressive that found something so cool. I must appologize to Habgirl that I took a little bit of the credit

I'm now addicted to the site. My daughter & her friends love it. It's sad that the other batch of eagles & eggs ended up like they did. Still really cool to see the "New Eagle Family"... they are soooo cute.
No no, I got it form her, I sent it to the local ladies here. It went over very well

Ahhh I see Everyone I told about it went wild for it too. Surprising how all my friends (regardless of who they were, what they were like, what their careers were etc) all got into this site with the same intrigue & still to this day keep tabs.
i.e.) a big bear of a man (a friend of ours) who is rough & gruff on the outside, is a class A mechanic by day & collects/rides Harley's ... turns in to such a softy when the eagles are concerned. He checks in on them at least 5 times a day When the camera's were out... he was miserable. He wasn't happy to hear what came about, but was elated with the newer family.
I'm glad everyone got some enjoyment out of it! The guy who set up the camera is somewhat of a local celebrity on Hornby now...too bad about the end result. It's interesting nonetheless!
The young 'uns are so cute...I want one! Wait...it would likely grow up and eat my dog....
I understand the folks looking after the site had considered placing a camera on Mike Commodore's head in case the eagles considered setting up residence there.
