"MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens team captain Saku Koivu successfully underwent surgery to his left eye on Saturday evening at Royal Victoria Hospital, in Montreal.
The surgery, performed by the Canadiens' team ophthalmologist Dr. John Little and retina specialist Dr. Mila Oh, became necessary to repair a tear in the retina of Saku Koivu's left eye, discovered during an examination performed by Dr. Little on Saturday afternoon.
Koivu suffered the eye injury in Game Three of a first round series against the Carolina Hurricanes when he was clipped by Justin Williams' stick. Koivu had two points in three playoff games. He ranked second on the Canadiens with 62 points during the regular season.
Koivu is presently resting and his recovery will last several weeks."
so i guess they found a tear that can't be good
