I have just deleted the thread that had redlight and others insulting each other. There is no room for that on the board and it better stop now. Just because you put an * in a word doesn't make it any less vulgar or nasty, especially when used against others. Take your teen-age taunting somewhere else and stick to arguments and counter-arguments.

P.S. I want to make it clear than this is not just for Mike Or Kahuna or any others in that thread, but on a whole, we need to start being a little more respectful of other posters and stop with the personal attacks.

We follow the classiest TEAM in sports, so let's be the classiest FANS! :)

I think redlight was just caught up in the terrible emotions that come with the habs getting knocked out. At least I'm hoping that's the case, and if so, Mike should way a day or two to cool off before he posts anything, or else he'll end up sounding more one-sided than the CBC.

Sorry for my part guys, but that individual just gets under my skin as he does many others. Why he wasn't booted for his first vulgar outburst when he attacked brooky baffles me (as long as he's here, it will continue happening, the leopard can't change his spots), but I won't be playing with him anymore...life's too short for that (thanks for deleting the thread, I was considering asking).

To all administrators/anybody reading this:

I am honoured that you would make a thread featuring me as the topic on this fine message board. However, I would like to make this very clear.

I have never once initiated an attack on anybody. You can look up any thread in which I "supposedly" attacked someone, and you will see this:

1) Me voicing a strong opinion (perhaps rough around the edges at times), and providing passionate and heartfelt comments to the topics at hand.

2) Somebody disagreeing with the way that I have expressed my opinion, and making a specific point of saying that I require psychiatric help, that I am an idiot, or any number of other PERSONAL attacks (which I believe is against the Terms of Use).

Clearly, I have a right to defend myself under such circumstances, especially when I am mentally superior to the attackers. If anybody does not believe the assertions that I have just made, perhaps they should go back and look at the evidence.

I made it a sticky because I wanted to make it clear that we have to stop personal attacks, even if we are personally attacked. It was just a reminder of the terms of use. It was read and now it is moving on.

I would like to once again inquire as to whether there is a problem with posting opinions which may be daring or controversial. If the answer to my question is that the people on this message board cannot handle my comments, then I will gladly move on.

Daring and Controversial is fine, as long as it has some justification and is not meant to be inflamatory. If it is meant to get people angry, then it is not OK. If it is meant to challenge, then it is OK.
It is not a problem to think differently; it is a problem when one uses a bazooka to present those thoughts...

What you say is true, Habtastic. And yes, some of my comments may be a bit too "risque" for this board, and I accept that. Lack of judgment. However, I think that in most cases, I voiced a legitimate opinion (always supporting the Habs, our common goal), but some members simply did not care for the manner in which I expressed it, and decided to take it out on me. Let it be known that I am not on here to fight, and that sometimes a sense of humour and a grain of salt are man's greatest tools.

Random Example: Do I criticize Huet to "inflame" people? No, I criticize him because I legitimately feel that he has let in some really weak goals and that the general populus overlooks that completely. He personally has let me down in some crucial moments. Some members of this board will respond to that by: saying i have mental problems, making a derogatory comment about the level of my intelligence (which I find particularly amusing, given the circumstances), calling me an idiot and telling me my opinion is not valuable. In fact, the attacks and hateful comments that I have received actually outweight what I have dished out.

I feel that it is now fashionable to take runs at me, and that I will be called "dirty" even when I hit cleanly. I feel like Darius Kasparaitis.

Yep, that's enough of this garbage for me. The moderators post a code of conduct, then repeatedly neglect to enforce it. Have fun people, I have thoroughly enjoyed all but the last week on this board. But the moderators complete lack of action combined with MCGirl jumping me is enough to get me out of here. To the 98% of awesome posters here, thanks it's been fun! To the 2% of mental midgets and backstabbers...good luck to you, you'll need it to get through life.

Frig guys and gals , it is unfortunate that we will have one less poster on this board. I made my point about Kovalev and when I realized that RedM responded the way he did in a negative way, I did not respond. He challenged my knowledge of the game, which was meant to provoke a response from me. Again, I'm a working man, and have to many life skills to play that game.

Sorry to see you leave Kahuna.........I'm not necessarily agreeing with everything you said, but surely you can find a way to return to our Big Hab family. Disputes in families happen.

WOW, How quickly the tables have turned. More evidence that what you post is here for all to see.

I stand behind what I posted & will not stoop to the level of insults & rash behavior either. Once the code of conduct was posted, I've followed it to the letter of the law... with no exceptions. One cannot want someone else to be disciplined for breaking codes that they in fact turn around & break too.

The codes do not apply to only the New Members, but for all the members of GoHabs, all the time.

As for you Kahuna....

I'm saddened that you feel that way. I was only trying to prevent "overreacting & fighting" once again. (with little success as you can tell) If you want to turn this into my betraying you, there's not a whole heck of a lot I can do about that. It is in fact ironic that you have snapped a bad temper on me over this... when only minutes ago you posted about those features in another member.

As for others on here who feel the codes are a bit lax.... remember this..

1) Mario & the moderators are busy guys.... you cannot expect them to tend to this site 24/7 which is why I tried to prevent this.

2) Mario's not a fool.... he has approached (& will continue to) the appropriate posters & has set the record straight about what is expected of each & every poster.

When a disagreement occurs & then is properly tended too.... DO NOT drudge up the past. If/when a poster has been warned about their abuse on GoHabs & continues to ignore the code of conduct... then one can be expect to get the boot..... until then.... it's a 2 strikes & your out call. First times the warning, then they clean the slate....... the second time gets the hook.

Please DO NOT (for one second) think that Mario has not dealt with the issue. There is no need to single out a poster & "stir the pot" just to "speed along" their banning. Let a sleeping dog lie or it might bite you instead, as I've come to find out.

Most of us on here have too many life skills to play these games & have our time wasted. What happened yesterday (or in the past) with a new poster is history. I'm sure it'll happen again as Newbies learn of our fabulous site 'cause it takes time for people to understand the "family" we have going here... (remember, it wasn't too long ago that I was ignorant to this too... which is the reason why the codes are now stickied for all to know)

But today was a new day & the negative/insulting response(s) that was (were) posted was (were) by a "Guru" who knows the code of conduct & still chose to ignore it.

You cannot ask for someone to be warned/booted & then turn around & do what they did without expecting any kind of warning too. Instigating on any level is inappropriate. No one on this site is "above the law"... well maybe Mario

I tried to keep things civil, but with the posts left today.... My heart said intervene. redlightmike got the warning from Mario (who IS the law) & since then, has carried his words with respect to all posters on here.

He has the right to voice opinions & facts as much as the rest of us.... as long as it's done with honor & does not breech the codes. Instigating to force him out is "Un-hablike" & needed defending. It wasn't to long ago that I crossed a line & learned what's right & what's wrong for GoHabbers.

I had a moral obligation & the knowledge to correct it

I also apreciate the jump in, Mc Girl. Kahuna tried to contact me today, but unfortunately I am 12hrs ahead and only come on in your evening, so I wasn't able to respond. I also can't always intervene until too late, so it is nice when a neutral party can diffuse early. Johab is the other moderator, but I think he is caught up in a whirlwind of work right now, so we need people to step up. What we need most of all is continued class from this board, which 98% are showing. Let's keep the positivity and class flowing!
