Dear Canes.. Please whomp the Devils
Permalink Closed

Anyone who doesn't mention Jersey on their list of places that don't deserve teams should go see agame there... At least in Tampa and Nashville they get loud in the stands, Jersey, no way...

Maybe it's the swamp gas or the ghost of the mighty trap... anyway...

Canes in 7 - if there's any justice..

I know I'm rooting for the 'Canes. After all, there's no shame in being beaten by the best. And if Carolina beats New Jersey, that's nothing short of impressive.

Besides, I'm getting tired of the Devils. It seems every year they're contending for a cup. Just go away already!

With all due respect to you Kahun', I lived there for 5 years, I've seen over 30 games at the Byrne/Continental Arena, and I go there at least 3 or 4 times a month, as I live less than 10 miles from NJ. I can tell you Redbank from Montclair from Asbury Park from Princeton, believe me,,,

So I'm not quite sure what you're talking about, but if it makes you happy, you go for it! But I'll stand by my opinion that Jersey has the worst fans in the league, not even selling out 2nd round playoffs in the past...

Oh and Kahuna, since you're such the Jersey expert, I'm sure you meant the Jersey Shore, not Shores, as it is just a single place...

No Brooky, I'm hammered on a ale called "La Fin Du Monde" (translated to, the end of the world...which many habs fans may be feeling right now), an excellent product from Chambly, Quebec. Yes, it is the Shores, sorry I forgot a letter in my spectacular drunken stupor my friend. But yes, Wildwood, North Wildwood (especially) , Wildwood Crest and Cape May were my stomping grounds as a young lad. And my dad, as was Frank, born in Hoboken, NJ. So puuuullllllease, don't question my geographical knowledge of the area...and for gods sakes, if you say Mack's Pizza sucks, you are going down

As far as the hockey fans go, I'll deffer to you on that...I was just deffending the area

Hey! I love Jersey, and I'll defend it against all the stupid jokes it gets any day. Nobody has any idea why it's called the "Garden State" because they see the industrial strip coming in from Newark and nothing else

I, myself love the "Fin du Monde" and drink them when I'm not in the mood for a Guinness! They've been pretty regularly available down here for a few years now!

Hey, I sense the Canada "Nefie Jokes" or Swedish "Fin jokes" syndrome here...NY "NJ jokes"? Never the less, my Dad is a highly decorated war hero who was born in NJ, so I'll deffend Jersey to the end...even though I love NY City!

Now Guinness, that's my brew of choice for the most part! This Fin Du Monde Rocks though. Brooky, I'll email you if me and my buddy come down there this summer. I really want to see my hero, Les Paul, at the Iridium club in Manhatten this year if at all possible!

Have any of you perhaps considered that a TEAM deserves to win the cup, and not the fans of a team?  How about the organization that put the team together and built them for success?  Or the actual players who are playing the game?

You don't want a team to hoist the cup because they have poor fan support?  I feel that we should cheer for the team whose players we like most or whose talent we respect most.  for this reason, i really want NJ to take it because i really respect their style of hockey.  Carolina, on the other hand, make me sick to my stomach.  I despise Cole and his stupid neck, i hope Cam Ward gets put in the emergency ward (so its cheesy, sue me), Brind'amour is a fallice,  and as for Williams.... lets just say i wouldn't mind giving that guy a 'smiley face' (for all you American History X fans).

NJ in 5.

You are drunk.  Brook wanted you to delete the "s" on "Shores" to make it "Shore", not add an "s".

I can't ever root for the Canes due to the whineyness of Peter laviloette(SP) and others (DOug Weight, ROd Brindamour) and they've got to many careless players i don't want to see Raising t he cup though i do like Cam Ward.

You need help. You should seek it. You should really be blocked from this board, and that's the first time I've ever thought that about anyone.

And btw, if you're a "Fan" of "American History X" you're most likely a violent racist thug, so why not crawl back in that dark little hole and stay there

^%$wipe...

I spoke to Cam Ward's Dad this morning needless to say his son is having the time of his life. He referenced he and I were on an oldsters ball hockey team that beat the Queen's U. students last November - so that he and I know what it feels like to be winners - nice touch.

I told him I was impressed at the end of the 2nd period when they showed Cam removing his hockey mask to check it for damage after the Souray blast, the nonchalant look on his face - icewater in those veins.

I'm pulling for the Canes now, in spite of an intense dislike for Williams and Staal.

Jersey will wreck the Canes....because of Elias and Gomez and Gionta three guys who can score...plus the goaltending war will be won by Brodeur...no doubt there.

It's great to have insider contacts.  Keep us informed on things as the 'Canes progress, Cleg!

Brooklynhabfan...... you are a complete lameass who has no sense of humour, and cannot detect exaggeration if your life depended on it.  you are a mess.

as well, you are the one attacking me for making derogatory comments about players on Carolina, however when i look just to the left of your "righteous" authoritative response to my comment, i see that your picture shows Carolina's logo as some kind of large animal's feces.  do you not see the hypocrisy in that?  surely, you do.

furthermore, the whole point of American History X is that racism is a terrible thing, and that irrational expression of racial hatred are terrible.  Anybody who has ever put thought into the causes of racism and the responses to it in society are "fans" of American History X.  Also, it is nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece, loved by critics and film buffs alike.

Can you not go 5 minutes without making a fool of yourself?

Darwin's a bitch when you want to play ever so badly and just can't find any skates that fit, ain't he Mike?

As an aside, I'm also tempted to write a movie in which Tom Cruise plays a guy who's life is in jeopardy unless he can detect exaggeration... could be a blockbuster!!! Thanks for the idea!!

Whoa, careful brooklyn, redlightmike has used the "Is that the best you got?" comeback.  With rapier wit like that, you could be in for a severe tongue lashing.  What's next - "Oh, Yeah."?  I hope he doesn't sink that low.
