It was a great series if you ask me. Sucks to be GERBER. Anyways, I can't wait for next season.

Apart from Huet ... I'm not sure who's untouchable.

In thought Markov earned his stripes in the regular season ... but when it came to crunch time in the playoffs he couldn't deliver (this is a terrible achilles heel for a player supposedly a #1 offensive defensman)

Ribeiro definitely a playoff disappointment ... no goals and lots of missed chances.

Ryder ... needs to improve most aspects of his game ... too one dimensional and makes costly mistakes.

Kovi ... very good some nights ... invisible others. Probably a keeper.

Souray .... lots of big blunders in the playoffs ... and I think he plays much too soft for a BIG defensman ... honestly, did he lay out a single Hurricane in a corner all series? I can't recall.

Komi ... still making mistakes, but showing good signs ,.. so probably also a keeper.

Begin ... hard to say how he did in the playoffs as he played little. Probably a safe choice for next year.

Bulis? Perez? Zednick? these guys scored a few goals , but not enough to carry the day. Maybe time that one or more is moved .

Plec? played okay, but expectations are high for him, so will probably have to elevate his game or he'll suffer the same fate as Saku (lots of criticisim for lack of scoring punch). And on a related note ... for the Saku detractors ... funny how the Habs lost 4 straight once Saku was sidelined ... Saku is KEY to the habs success ... so his spot is safe for many more years.

Sometimes you just need to tip yoru hat to a better team..and yes, Carolina (2nd seed) was a BETTER TEAM. We competed with great goaltending but in the end our achiles heel came back to haunt us. All season, whenever we ran into a hot goalie, we did not have the guns to overcome that. We won in Carolina because Gerber sucked..plain and simple.
