Supposed leaders and MVP's not doing anything
Permalink Closed

Well I've seen 3 games in a row now with the supposed leaders and MVP's on this team not doing anything. I will not blame anything on Huet as he has kept us in every game.

The key players I am disappointed with are Souray, Markov and Rivet on defence. The forwards I will not mention because I'm not really sure we should expect anything from Ribs and Bulis as well as the younger players on the team.

Dandy, Bouillon and Komisarek are showing they belong here and care about this team and winning. The rest of the D are floating and taking dumb penalties.

Finally, Kovy is the only guy who can put the puck in the net and set up plays on the forward end. He has a bad knee, nice to see the other guys stepping up in the absense of the captain and hurt Kovy....

Lame effort for three games so far, can they actually go four at the Bell center without getting booed off the ice?

Can't wait for the offseason so BG can unload some of these bums.

Johnny- I agree with all of your points. You see, this comes down to what has ailed this team all year. Lack of character and work ethic. Gainey has tried to fix it (unload Theo and Dagenais) but it is painfully obvious that there are still guys in that dressingroom that do not care. It is disappointing. If this team had character, they would rally around the cause of their fallen captain. That is the difference between THIS year's team and the team that Koivu came back to play for after battling cancer. C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R. The year that Saks came back from Cancer the team rallied around their captain and posted a first round upset. This year's team preferred to fold the tent.

I guess the funny thing is everyone was blaming it on Sak for not getting certain players on the team to have character. I think what people need to realize is if your a floater, you are a floater, no matter what the captain says.

A bit like expecting the coach to get certain players to have character and play hard eh John?

A bit but a coach has alot more to do with it, he has the option of benching players as well as speaking to his GM about the bums.

In this case BG can say to himself, why did I sign Ribs to another year, why is Bonk so useless, etc...

JohnM...there WILL be a game seven!

...it will happen!

The 3 game slide has wayyyyyy more to do with the Hurc's uprising than it does with a Hab collapse!  In fact, the uprising began...as And-o has stated...mid-way through game two!

Anyway...lets debate game six...then game seven...etc...then we can argue about who floats and who leads!!!

THERE WILL BE A GAME SEVEN!!!

I believe..I have a dream..a dream that the players wearing the CH on their chest will show some heart Tuesday night..a dream that they will draw inspiration from their fallen Captain. I have a dream that someone in a Canadiens uniform will take it upon himself to run over Ward early in the game and let him know what he is in for..yes friends..I have a dream.

If Souray, Markov or Bonk want to take stupid penalties, how about they use the 2 mins to run Ward? I'd say that's 2 minutes well spent!

Much more productive then firing the puck over the glass..unless of course your ex-wife happens to be at the game....

Ando I am with you all the way.  There will be a game seven.  By the way did anyone see Martin Brodeur's (yes Jersey's goalie) editorial in today's Sun.  He is talking about goalie interference still being a problem and refers to how the opposition uses every means to destroy the concentration of successful goalies  such as Huet.  He talks about the incident on Friday night where the Hurcs scored their winning goal when quote "Niclas Wallin clearly prevented Huet from doing his job by positioning himself in the crease  while placing his stick between Huet's pads."  "That's how Huet momentarily lost sight of the puck, thus allowing Rod Brind'Amour to score the goal that made the difference."  He also went on to talk about the high stick on Koivu which should have been called.  Brodeur further adds "It's incomprehensible the referees didn't see the infraction because Koivu was about to get a good chance to score" meaning one of the referee's should have been following the play and should have called the penalty.  He also says that its a pity a team can take out one of the best opposing players without "suffering the consequences".  Brodeur also commented on the fact Williams hit Markov in the face during the last game and there was no penalty.  This is an interesting editorial from an opposing team member and Don Cherry also mentioned the interference on Huet during post-game comments.  I wonder which team would be ahead in the series if the above infractions had been called by the refs.

i believe if williams gets called for the saku fouls we are waiting to play ottawa ,it should have been 5 mins , the league would have reviewed it and he would have got a game , that was more that just careless , not to say he tried it but what he done to markov was careless, what he done to saks was beyond that and a message should have been sent either by the league (yeah right ) or murry -downey in the forum of a retaliatory dirty hit , 2 wrong dont make a right but it make you even .
