I've had it. Our guys are getting sliced and diced by Williams. Our goalie is being pureed by Brind'amour and Stillman. And who's stepping in and saying STOP IT! Nobody.
How many times have you seen a fight where a player is sticking up for his teammates turn a game around? Our guys, from Gainey on down, just stand there and take it. Oh yeah, they'lll push and shove around the net after a play, but that's nothing -- worthless.
If we can't have our captain out there, maybe we should at least have a Sergeant-at-Arms.
Souray -- you're nominated. I don't care if you get an extra two for instigator. In the long run, the team will benefit.
Yeah, we need more of a goon to do the job. Does anyone know of any pro boxers who can skate? I heard mixed martial artist Georges "Rush" St. Pierre used to play hockey as a kid and is a Habs fan. Maybe he can lace up the skates and get Brind'amour to tap out.
Wouldn't it be nice to see Downey out there in game 5? I know he's taken a ton of criticism this year, but I actually think he's less of a gamble than Kostitsyn. Let's kick some butt out there. It's needed! Here's Downey's chance to decide if he ever plays for this team again!
I have always thought Nilan was the quintessential hockey cop. Nothing and I mean nothing went unaddressed on his watch.
Play-off hockey is a different game and today's refs are so busy trying to catch every stick grab they're blind to the real crimes.
I think BG has missed capitalizing on his squads' ability to kill off a good penalty - in fact I'd dress Downey and let Souray and Rivet and Komisarek all know that Downey's presence doesn't mean they can't lay a thumping on the Canes. It's war!!
Yes Nilan or Fergy would have had the Bell Centre fans on their feet all night.
P & V stands for "Piss & Vinegar" which when brought to the RBC Centre = Play-off Victory.
