Toughness= LOL...he's a wangster not the gangster he thinks he is.
Leadership= LOL...the bigger the game, the worse he gets.
Faceoff Ability= I wish I could give this to you Mikey...but sorry you suck in the circle too.
Passing= Okay he's a decent passer.
Vision= He sees the ice well.
Size= Nope
Anyway, I could go on and on. Bottom line NO TEAM is going anywhere with this guy as a 2nd line centre (which is the only line he can play on). Hopefully Gainey turfs this loser in the offseason. He drives me nuts. He's suppose to be an offensive player but he continues to blow chances, while adding nothing else to his game.
I love this team and most of the players. But tell me any team who has been successful in the past 10 years (NJ, COL, DET, DAL etc.) who had a small, 2nd line centre, who can't skate, is not gritty (he gives girly bumps along the boards those aren't hits) and is not a bonfide legit NHL point producer.
Not to mention this guy is a cancer. He was terrible tonight. This was his chance to step up, he's had a bunch of chances to SCORE the last 3 games and NOTHING.
Ribs had a abysimal(SP) second period he was awful but you got to credit him for coming out with a better third. You could see he was trying but really none of the chances he has "blown" have been his fault.
Bonk was defintely misused... he needs to stay in his role. Ribs seems to be trying harder, but he has too many deficiencies. Pleks will be an excellent second-liner one day, but I like him in this two-way role at the moment. Is Perez finally breakin out? He and Kostitsyn have been our highest ranked prospects for a while and are thought to be a shade under Kovalev's ability, so let's hope his play continues and he becomes a first-liner in short-order. As for Kovalev; thanks for showing up in Carolina and you better show up again when we go back!
Yes, the whole team was a step behind tonight, and credit the Huricanes for making it tougher sledding for us than it's been so far in the series. But I gotta agree with the Dude. Nobody had more opportunities tonight to make something happen than Ribs. (Playing on a line with Kovalev will yield those chances). He failed on every occasion.
I'm not saying he doesn't try, or that he has no skill whatsoever. We all saw what he's capable of two years ago. But he's not the same guy.
As many have said on our board all year, we're very weak at center. I have no doubt that BG will look to fix this come summertime.
