Credit Carolina's defense for stepping their game up tenfold!

A few things obviously need "tweaking" before Sunday in Raleigh;

1)  Dressing seven defensemen was not a great idea (live and learn I guess)

2)  Time for a trip to the proverbial woodshed for Justin "High-Stick" Williams (3X is no accident)!!!  (And-o nominates Komi for that job)

3)  Either move Pleks into Saku's slot...OR leave Bonk there and read Higgins and Ryder the riot act!  (those two kids need to realize that they need to adapt as well).

On the other hand...if And-o had asked any GOHABBER before game 1 if they would be happy going back to Raleigh for game 5 tied 2-to-2, would you take it???  And-o to!!!

Bob, Carbo & Jarvis will make the necessary changes!

.....make haste Steve Begin!!!

Not sure Andy, this team looks lost without their leader. I'm pretty sure all the betters are backing Carolina again.

This team needs some spark and Huet needs to win us one more game.

Oh boy u should have seen the Fox South people after the game. Can u say over confident. I hope we go to raliegh and play 60 solid minutes and take game 5, return home Tuesday and win it in six. It will not be easy, but we still have a chance. Is Kovy ok ?????????

Hey JohnM...the Habs gave up two real hard-luck goals...and didn't get the better of many calls again tonight..plus, Carolina's defense has made some obvious adjustments!

...this slide began back in game two when the Habs struggled to hang-in for the OT winner!

No doubt the team's momentum has been lost since Saku went down...but Gainey and Carbo will make adjustments!!!

This is a marathon...not a sprint!!!

...only one more chance for Huet though...then Bob goes with Abby (only as a last resort though)!!!

Ando's right, keep the faith. If someone had offered me a 3 game series a couple a weeks ago I would have jumped at it! We need to get to Cam Ward, and we will. Huet needs to step up his game and start controlling his rebounds again...and he will. Kovy needs to turn it back up, he will. Ribs needs to find his hands and finish off...HE'D BETTER! I like our chances on the road, and we've got two of them.

I agree, but Kovy needs to step up big time. I had such high hopes for him in this series

someone needs to run cam ward through the net and show carolina what it feels like , 2 goals should have been called back tonight , and ron and don agree with me . and to top it all off , williams not only scores and sets 1 up but high sticks markov and nobody sees it again rediculous.

You're absolutely right -- on the last goal, Brind'amour was interfering with Huet even worse than he did on the one that was called back. But you can't call the same penalty twice can you?

Did you see the way the refs were taking time to explain the goal they did call back -- like the players have to be coddled nowadays? Whatever happened to old time hockey? You complain about a call and the ref slaps his hips -- 10 for misconduct. These refs were as bad as the pair the other night. The NHL has some serious problems with the officiating corps.

Even as a goalie, I've got to agree. Clean Ward's clock in the first to send a message. He's seeing all the pucks and nobody's in his face at all. Huet has Canes all over him at all times...send a message boys!

Unfortunatly to me it looked like when ever they tried to create traffic in front of the net he Canes D just pushed him aside. We need more size, Downey may help god knows he will try and work his ass off. Not only do the Habs need to create traffic there main problem is getting rid of it. Someone should have knocked Brindamour(SP) on his ass for interfering with Huet on the call back and on the goal. Kovy was right there but we all know he doesn't give a hoot.

How do you know? Are you in Kovy's head? Maybe the guys muscles were burning from playing 60 grueling minutes of hockey. Maybe he didn't see the traffic. Maybe he got lost in the panic.

There are a panopli of reasons as to why Kovy didn't clear the net, yet I somehow doubt "he doesn't give a hoot" is one of them.

It seems here that no one understands that towards the end of a game, playing at such a high level of hockey, the body doesn't respond as you might want it to. Yes, they are world-class athletes, but so are their oponents. You can't expect crisp and flawless hockey every game for 60 minutes. If that was the case, no one would score.

Physical lapses, mental lapses... You name it: they're caused by fatigue. Something that occurs not from watching the game while sitting on your sofa, but from playing a physically grueling sport.

Screw the traffic, out and out run him! Ring his bell, rattle his cage, scramble his eggs. Seriously, this guy is seeing too many pucks and is not being screened or touched. Give him a reason to look over his shoulder!

I have an idea     Take the Habs player that is most disposable, Have him start at our end and skate as fast as he can, run  Ward right into the net, over the glass and into the seats    Then when he gets the Game misconduct he will not be missed..  I know   I know  im being sarcastic  lol

Get someone with muscle to do it. Perhaps Mike "Mr. Muscles" Ribeiro?

The guy is H U G E.

2 fluky goals, not Huet's fault. Abby would of let the first one and the third one in also. Come on guys look at it completely.

I don't blame Christo on any of the goals. The only reason I cite that his palying was sub par was his rebound control was pretty bad. That's a good sign he's fighting the puck a bit. Still, like I said before, he'll bounce back with a Hip, Hip, Huet performance in game 5.

Johnny- This team looked LOST with their leader. Lets take a very realistic and unbiased view of the series shall we?

Game one- Gerber does not show up, Carolina has no momentum due to shoddy goaltending..Huet plays outstanding. 6-1 Montreal.

Game two- Again, Gerber puts his team in a 3-0 hole. No momentum. Cam Ward comes in and plays very well. Carolina takes the lead. Habs do show that they have some character and take the lead again, only to have Carolina tie it and force overtime. Carolina looking like a much better team with a goalie

Game 3- Ward is the difference. Once again Montreal's lack of Finnish shows when they come up against a decent goalie. 2-1 Canes.

Game 4- Dominance by the Canes. Lack of effort. Nothing to do with being lost without their leader. Montreal simply did not show up. Carolina dominated the first and third periods and checked Montreal into the ground.

Except that Ryder and Higgins were lost without their centre. Add that line back in a we win that game. Well, maybe a couple other cellestial tweeks, but without RKH line what can we do? Our D had all the offensive #s last night.
