OK lET'S DO SOMETHING!

We all reconize that the Koivu injury goes way beyond hockey...We all have him in our thoughts.

But..since this is a hockey site...and we all agree the officiating was just plain terrible the other night...practically gave Carolina the win....and potentially missing a clear as bell eye knock out...What are we gonna do?

You know those people that sit around and complain and then do nothing? Bugs me. So here we all are...knowlegable hockey fans....in agreement over potentially one of the worst spectical's in officiating ever( and not just the missed Koivu call)...we should do something.

Who on here has the computer know how to create some kind of online petition that we can all write a brief letter requesting disciplinary action against those two monkey's?...And who is the person we submit it to? I am calling on our great site to band together on this one. Some real smart computer people on here...

I like the online petition idea.  Maybe some of the IT gurus (Brook? Zulrath? Mario?) can set one up and we'll all sign it.  Where to send it?  My bet would be Colin Campbell.

Great idea, Muller!  As disgusted as I was last night, I like what I see on this board tonight!

Presuming someone at NHL headquarters can read - I'm in.

The spin doctors at HQ will never admit there's anything wrong in fact neither of those two idiots will even be relieved of their play-off gig.

In fact when the Habs hit the next round expect to see Marouelli ticking us off at the Bell Centre again - with lots of Habs penalties to PROVE he's done nothing wrong.

I think Saks should personally sue the two idiots.

To be honest man I don't think that would do anything... It was basically an unintentional highstick and as far as I know the league has never done anything to punish anyone for unintentional actions AFTER the game in question.

What I think  the officials should be ashamed about is the non-calls that went on all game except for a select few moments... conveniently enough OT was one of those moments. Pathetic... it seemed to me that the officials were making calls just to spite lack of reaction they would get from the Habs. I didn't see anyone on the bench even flinch the whole game even though it was slowly being stolen... I think that is one of the reasons the habs will win this series.

Here's an idea:  Let's simply start a thread, get all the sign-ons, then send a link of the thread via e-mail to the appropriate person in the league office.

Or this: Find out the appropriate person's e-mail address, and bombard him with e-mails individually.  (Maybe this is happening already anyway.)  Whether 30 or 40 e-mails will have any impact on one of these people, who knows?  They likely (a) have an unlisted e-mail address or (b) get hundreds of e-mails a day which they ignore already.

But what do we have to lose?

Well:

1: I agree it is unlikely to do much...but again the question...ever worked with someone who complained all the time but never makes any attempts to correct the situation...if you are not prepared to take action...don't complain...Let's go...lot's of us here...giving us a voice. I am sending something along on my own, but with the power of numbers...it's better.

2: I agree...The Koivu non call was bad... but it was really the rest of the game that demonstrated incompetance: Bouillion call, Komi(4min after they knew they missed the Koivu call---cripes Stillman practically had to take his pointed finger nails and jab himself in the gums to get a micro-bead of something red!!!)....Then the non call just before the Plek penalty..which was not even a penalty. Also, they called Koivu earlier...I saw the replay...not even close to a penalty!!.

So I agree mdmrules...it was the whole game that was a disgrace.

Bad reffing has always been part of hockey and something the great teams rise above. Trust me, the Habs are not losing any sleep over the reffing and neither should anyone on this board. Yes it was brutal and yes I was also mad, but time to move on. Let's leave the blaming your woes on the ref thing for the Leaf fans. BTW, at work today, a Hab fan buddy and I were shaking our heads about the non call, not really complaining, just discussing. One of our Leaf fan co-workers jumps in and goes in to a 10 minute tirade about the non call on Gretzky vs the Loafs in the 1993 playoffs...13 years ago dude!!! He says that non call cost the Loafs the cup, ya, ok. Like I said, blaming the refs is the domain of Leaf fans, Habs fans are among the most knowledgeable in the league, rise above it!
