There was no “collapse” (that is just another ridiculous statement)…the sky is NOT falling!

In fact, Plekanecs stepped-up into Saku’s place fairly well, especially given the circumstances (amazing face-off performance…solid ‘D’…and Ryder/Higgins still got some quality chances).  Later in the game, when Bonk was given double duty, he also did well…at least until PK duties called!!!

BOTTOMLINE…the Canes won solely because of a few missed calls and their goaltender stood on his head PERIOD

TRUTH IS…as a team…that was the Habs best game of the 3 so far (unfortunately…it coincided with a terrible accident…and a Hurricane uprising in net…and some really questionable calls)!  Losing after an effort like that is heartbreaking…but necessary for growth!!!  Crisis and Opportunity!!!

Did you really expect the Habs to shut-out the Canes…or sweep the series???  Get Real!!!

The letdown after Saku’s accident was mostly off-ice, although who could blame a friend/colleague/co-worker for losing momentum after seeing that nasty event?!?!

THE HABS ARE BETTER WITH SAKU…but they have and can overcome such an injury!!!

In the meantime…pray for Saku (not the player…the man)…and continue to support the guys!!!

And-o has ALWAYS critiqued Koivu as a player…NEVER as a human!

You're pretty much on the ball here. I don't think the team collapsed after Saku's injury. If anything they showed some real grit, most likely fueled by seeing their leader go down in such a horrific way.

It's the hockey way, and last night erased in my mind any doubts about the fact that we have a team here, not just a collection of players....

I truly believe this injury will inspire the rest of the team in Game 4.  The boys will want to win one for Saku bad, real bad.  I see them coming out flying and putting a few behind Ward early.

This team will win in 5 games now.

Les Canadiens sont La.

Not sure Andy, Bonk was on the ice for the Canes first goal and that line was lost after the injury.

Pleks took a bad penalty in OT that lost the game.

If Sak did either of those things, you would be all over him.

Pleks never should've been called for that penalty.  The vasicek hit from behind seconds before was a far worse infraction.

All Pleks did was get his body in the way of the Cane cutting to the net.  Even with the new rules, he had body position on that play.  You have to be able to make that play defensively and not have it called.

Brutal call by the refs on that one

Actually if you watch the replay it is Dandy that should of got the call. He was the one who hooked the Carolina player. Both Pleks and Dandy were checking the player and Pleks got the call for it.

Fair enough i'll have to watch Dandy more closely next time i see the replay, but focusing on Pleks which is what i did last night, i did not see an infraction on that play.

I dont know Johnny..put Saks on a line with Sundstrom and Murray halfway through a game and I think he would look pretty lost for awhile out there too. Tough situation for anyone.
