I nominate Ribs for the Preparation H Player of the Year Award - I used to think he was such an ass but whatever ointment he's applying to his personality - its working. I'm really loving what he brings to the game!!

ActuallY I was going to say the same thing. I have bashed him all year but boy I need to give pretty boy credit and Gainey for putting him on Kovalev's line. But it seems that Ribs has been better in the dressingroom too. I heard he gave Downey the old shaving cream pie in the face after practice the other day. Then ran

I think Gainey had much to do with it but the fact that his clique no longer exists with Theo and Dags, he can now only focus on the team and not seperate himself form the core group. He actually has a chance to be part of the core players....if he continues to play his cars right.
He's still the team weirdo. But you need a guy like that, yapping at the other team, playing with an edge even though he's a shrimp. Total distraction. And plus he's got skills. Now if only he could either skate or hit. Anyway, he's really playing for the team now. So what if he scores less points.
Here's a question for those more well-versed in these matters than me. How possible is it to improve your skating when you are in your mid-20s, like Komisarek or Ribeiro? I mean is it too late for them ever to be even average skaters? Ryder seems like an example of late improvement: guy looks awful when he skates, but seems to have defied expectations and improved a bit, especially quickness and side-to-side, although it still looks awful.
Depends on when you started and your natural athletic ability. 2 NHlers didn't get on skates until their late teens - Yvon Lambert and Frank St. Marseille - and while skating was never their strong suit they both continually improved.
I've actually been impressed with his willingness to throw his weight around and get into the little scrums. Granted, when he throws a body check, it's about as forceful as getting tapped on the shoulder, but it's the fact that he even decides to throw the hit in the first place that impresses me.
What worries me is his inability to put the puck on goal. We all know he's a play-maker but for Christ's sake, would it hurt the guy to bury one every now and then?
Still, he's upped his game for the post-season, something many Habs fans and GoHabbers didn't think would happen.
