Since we lost... back to the songs... {:o)

Since team 990 did the Sweep Caroline song... I had no choice but to do this one AB. Let's hope she works

Rock those F***ing Hurricanes

(AKA ~ Rock you like a hurricane- Scorpions)

It's early playoffs
Our captain's out
Last night they hurt Koivu
let's remove all doubt
My stomach's turning

just hoping to win
Let us pray for
the return of Bégin
That win was ugly
everyone could tell
Let's rally up boys
and give them hell
More games to come
let's help them know
they've got to leave
time for them to go

Hey there Habs, rock those F****** hurricanes
Hey there Habs, rock those F****** hurricanes

My head is hurting
as I start to shout
are Penalties coming
to help us out
Put on our cages
the storm breaks loose
don't try to fake it
got nothing to lose
The fans are calling
for you to go
play your heart out
& let them know
Who's the better team
We're ready to win
We'll show you tonight
Our shot's will go in.

Hey there Habs, rock those F****** hurricanes
Hey there Habs, rock those F****** hurricanes

Hey there Habs, rock those F****** hurricanes
Hey there Habs, rock those F****** hurricanes

AB also plays that tune on the drums!

Don't know if I missed out on this topic but what does the MC stand for in your handle?

 Is it My Cute Girl?

LOL... No that's not the reason .  Although RWP2LE has me eating more Mickey D's than I should be. Thanks for the compliment... this song worried me. I've been staring at it for a week, convinced I couldn't make a parody out of it. Then, with tonight's fiasco ..... the poetry ran wild.

Sometimes I wish I could play more than the Baritone. About 2 1/2 years ago we bought an acoustic guitar & an electric guitar (with the amp & all the little extra's) the book & DVD "Learning Guitar for dummies" tab books & everything.... but I still haven't even tried to learn. Got a kick @$$ keyboard (that I can play children's songs on) that my prodigy daughter learned to play on her own..... & a good friend (who has recently married my cousin) that is a drum teacher at the local university.

Soon though, I'll learn real soon

Well I'll tell you, you're never too old to learn. I've been playing since, gasp, 1973. I developed to a point, but from 1977-2004 I was pretty stagnant. I've develloped more as a guitar player in the last two years than I did in the previous 31! I really beleive the biggest factor is confidence and just going for it. Plus, being in my first band since 1983 really pushes me to grow. Picked up guitar number 10 today and am negotiating for number 11. The pros call it G.A.S., Gear Aquisition Syndrome

MC - we had to listen to the Scorpions version while putting your lyrics to it!

GREAT JOB GIRLFRIEND!

Boyfriend may beg to differ - he had to hear me somewhat sing/yell (although it's the playoffs - suck it up man)

Keep it coming!

Scorpions trivia(1) It's kind of hard to believe, but they say the hockey team in Hannover is called the Hannover Scorpions after you know who. i never bothered to check it out, but it's crazy enough to be true.

Scorpions trivia(2). Iwas watching a program on TV about humor behind the iron curtain. It was pretty good, you had Gorbatchov telling Gorbatchov jokes on US tv(from back then). Any way the show ended with the footage of the wall going down and guess what song going in the backdown. The guy doing the show mentioned the song to some ex East Germans in a humorous sort of way and they said:"vat, you mock ze Scorpions? Zey are ze poets off freedom!" I really got a kick out of that, the poets of freedom. As y'all can tell, I'm not a fan...

Not just the poets of freedom, but the Winds of Change, too!!

I had the dubious pleasure of going to Moscow and working on the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989 (? could that be right, wow, time flies) and not only were the Scorpions treated like Gods there, but they also owned the PA system, which mysteriously doubled in volume for their performance... needless to say a little tension arose, with Ozzy being chased all the way to the airport to persuade him to come back for the second day's gig...

What's German for cocaine-fueled tool shed, anyway?
