So I agree with a lot of people here that said the refereeing was bad...but expect it to be much tighter...the Habs probably played their best game of the series and still lost...
Not only that but we lost the heart of the team Koivu, we better hope Begin can come back to replace some of the leadership lost and keep our 4 lines rolling. If there is one player I believe can battle through an injury of whatever magnitude it might be its Captain K.
But back to the game...sure the refs called a marginal game and that is one reason the habs lost...it certainly isn't the definining reason. The defining reason is simply that the goalie at the other end was spectacular...The Canadiens players were robbed a number of times while Huet for the most part simply had the best seat in the house.
NO reason to despair nothing in Ward's history suggests he will keep this going, and those flashy glove saves might me a quick glove hand but for me means simply his position wasnt that great and needed a spectacular save to help himself. There is ...I repeat...absolutely no way the Habs lose two games in a row at home. Koivu won't let them, neither will Kovalev, Huet, nor will Carbo and Gainey won't. Most importantly the "RAUCOUS" habs fans in the arena certainly won't...
Take solace in the fact they played their best game and lost...not only that but the Carolina win took one flukey goal and another screened shot to win. I know the Habs will pull this series out, the loss of Koivu will be a motivator...the team will finish this series quick to give him a chance to recover for round 2.
Good post Adam, I agree, Ward will falter. He played great, but got a lot of help from his D and some from the post. No worries, he'll show his true colours and Gerber will be back in before too long me thinks. Not to take away from the excellent game he just played though...but he's beatable, we've put four past him in 2 games.

I agree Adam13 that we will win this series but it won't be with Begin. I've a feeling that he's done for the season.
