My 3 keys to the loss

1 - missed call on Koivu (if they'd seen it, it would have been called, so i don't blame the refs...bad luck is all)
2 - missed save by Huet (don't blame him really, bad bounce is all)
3 - Koivu's absence (hmmm Habs minus Koivu equals loss?)

how could 4 refs not see that , they are supposed to follow the play and the puck was going to koivu and williams tries to lift his stick , on the replay you could see the ref 8-10 feet away , if he's following the play he has to see the infraction. the goals were not huet fault , rivet put it in the net , and sourey should have taken the body and were up 3-0.

I see it as The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:

The Good: goaltending by Ward (and Huet).  Ward's saves on Plekanec and Ribeiro were grand larceny.

The Bad: Bad luck (goal posts); bad bounces (especially on the Maind'amour goal), and very bad reffing.

The Ugly: The stick in Koivu's eye.  I pray to Sainte Lorette that it's a flesh wound, but it sure looked worse than that.  God, I hope I'm wrong.

The Habs have won a few games this year they deserved to lose.  Tonight they lost one they deserved to win..........

That sums it up nicely Nil. I hated the reffing, but I won't blame it for the loss. I don't blame Huet for the first goal, it was a fluke, they happen. I don't blame Huet for the second goal, but I will shake a finger at him for a really bad puck handling choice in the seconds before the goal.

Also, there was one missed call against them when Kovy's follow through stick nailed Hedican in the face. Although, of course not a severe outcome, but it could of been a make-up non call??

Yes, I did see that one and thought the same thing. Actually, until the Koivu thing I was pretty happy the stooges were letting the boys play...it actually looked a lot like a normal playoff game

Actually Figaro I have to totally and respectfully disagree. The one difference in this game as opposed to the first two was Carolina goaltending. Cmon guys lets face it..with goaltending even close to what Carolina got last night there is no way we are up 2-1. As far as Saks missing that was a factor but not the factor. We just did not bury our chances against a very good keeper which has been our achilles heel all year. We are fine when we are playing a goalie having an off or just average night..but when we run into a hot one we do not seem to have the firepower to get over the hump. Boys will come back hard Friday. GO HABS GO!

I thought both goalies played excellent ,given the fact that Ward has to play well or he is going to be sitting on the bench, would you not agree?..And I think the Habs shouldn't be going into that TRAP or what ever it was they were playing. They dictated the play for the first 2 period's ,then went into that trap 1 man in the others back ,theyll be back though they'll be all over WARD "GO HABS GO"

They played the same defense the whole game, I thought.
