Prediction of today's posts
Permalink Closed

Let's give everyone a break on posting today. Here's a quick summary:

1) It's all BG's fault that Huet looked weaker in the 3rd last night (forget about his stellar performance in the first two stanzas).

2) Koivu was invisible. Out Capt'n has to step up. Flip side -- team has to step up.

3) The team failed to buckle down in the third -- when it should be playing tight playoff hockey (subtopic is Rivet's boneheaded play).

4) We need Begin back, although Murray did a good job.

5) We'll never beat Carolina.

Forget about last night. Let's look forward to the playoffs. Take the positive from the first period and 19/20ths of second and build on that.

GO HABS GO!!!!

  1. Gainey has been nothing short of brilliant in his use of goalies down the stretch!! The fact that Huet was hot and had 7 shutouts in 20 games is not relevant!! Kudos to Bob for going with Abeschier who has a GAA of 3.71 and a save percentage of .887! No question that this brilliant piece of coaching has helped Huet's confidence immensely (and will REALLY help Gainey when he talks to Huet's agent this summer :o)

  2. Koivu was not invisible..in fact he was downright dominant out there!! He had an assist and was a plus one!!!!  he will score soon I just KNOW it!!!

  3. I know we only played 2 periods of hockey but earlier in the year we were only playing 10 minutes!! We are getting there boys!!! I am positive that soon we will learn that we cannot switch from high flying hockey (that got us a 3-0 lead) and going to that stupid 1-4 trap that we do not seem capable of playing!! It is only a matter of time!! Carolina will never beat our 1-4 trap like Jersey did last night.

  4. Yes.,.,we will dominate once Begin gets back!!

  5. No we WILL beat Carolina!! I just know it!!! We have improved so much over the team that got outscored 5 goals to our one all season!!! I fully expect that Carolina will be totally intimidated by our improvement and will fold the tent and go home!!! I KNOW w ehave only one 1 of our last 4 games and limped into the playoffs through the back door but Saturday is a new day...we shall overcome!!!!

There..is that better?

C'mon, Barry-o.  You have to have something, somewhere positive to say.  Will the playoffs at least give you some time to watch hockey with your new-found soul mate?  Really, just one thing.  I doubt you thought the Habs were going to make the playoffs, and they did.  Isn't that at least a little bit good?  The Leafs didn't make it.  Does that make you crack a smile?  Sure, they backed in, but they're in.  At least they have a chance.  As small as you (and others) may think it is, they still have a better chance than Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Florida, St. Lois, Vancouver, LA and especially Toronto.

I think Barry needs a good tickle fight! C'mon Big Guy, let's not look at how we will lose, but how we can win!

Guys- I guess my point with the sarcasm is this. I value everyone's posts on this site. Do I agree with all of them? Nahhhhh. Do I find each and every one of them entertaining in some way? Absolutely. Much has been said on here lately about some posts being negative etc.. And yes it can become boring and irritating. But on the same note, I find it just as irritating to read constant posts from people who are TOO positive and refuse to look at the "warts" on our beloved team. Somewhere between the overly positive and the too negative lies the true state of our team.

We are all guilty of posting out of personal bias' to a certain extent. That is human nature my friends. Because of this, we need to have diversity in posting. Look, it is like this...if I am growing tired of the great Saks debate, when I see a post titled "Saks is the Man", I just either do not read it, or if I do, don't bother replying. Same thing if I am tired of reading about a GM who can either do no right, or do no wrong. Like watching tv..I have the choice and freedom of clicking the channel button and moving on.

I love this team and I love this forum and I love the fact that Mario gives us the freedom to express ourselves.(And I LOVE TANYAWe live in a country that encourages diversity in opinions and allows us the right to express it freely. Let us not put the shackles on our rights as habs fans to agree to disagree.  Peace out man !

Barry: Are you campaigning for the Liberal leadership race. That was quite moving!

Just about as "moving" as the Large Tim Hortons and Bran Muffin I had on my way to work today
