Goddamn boys, some of you really make me laugh out loud sometimes.

When I first came to gohabs.com the big deal was that Gainey was a moron for trading away Garon. Gainey should have been stoned to death according to a few of you. Then....Huet would get his first start, before the game, everyone was saying how Huet wouldn't be up the the job, (to which I said he is an amazing goalie, and to give him a shot.) Then as we all know, he started to play more and more until he eventually grabbed the #1 spot on the team. While along this road, Huet gained support of the Montreal "faithful". Suddenly a trade for Huet and Bonk didn't seem so bad. Up to now Huet has been top notch game in and game out.

Another heated debate was that by November some of you people were already writing the Habs off, only 1 full month into the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which continued until the Olympic break with only 3 or 4 threads of optimism from a few of the other gohabbers. Montreal had no chance in hell according to some experts here. Then, from the Olympic break to now, the Habs have been rolling, with only a few losses here and there. Optimism was running high. Now? We lose a few games, and we see that people have reverted to the "Habs won't make the playoffs, if they do, it'll be 4 games then an early departure for the Red-White-and Blue." "I don't want to face Carolina, they are too hard of a team..." and all that other fun reading material that I, and the other people who actually believe in the Habs have to read.

Seriously, have faith in your team. If you hate the players so much, why do you cheer for them when they win, and bash them when they lose? What team in a season goes without any losses?!?!?!?!?

What happenes happenes. If the Habs don't make the playoffs, so be it. There is next year. But I do think they will make it into the playoffs, and I hope we face Carolina, because last i checked, we owe them a thumping. And if it's Ottawa, good. We owe them one too. After that, if we win. (Which we do have a shot, I don't care what other say. If a team like Pittsburg, Florida and Washigton can beat these teams, so can the Habs.) Then its all downhill from there!

I think people here would find it more fun if we actually filled this board up with Optimism rather than hate.

My rant is over.

I'm with you Jay, I shake my head some of the posts...but I will say that there are some excellent fans on this site and some very knowledgeable people as well.  The hand full of cryers, blamers and bandwagon jumpers frustrate me, but the majority, who are great fans make up for it!

Jay, maybe we should shut down the board just in case of a negative comment or two against the players and personal responsible if we miss the playoffs. Would that cheer you up?

Remember, a sports forum will always have positives and negatives. It would be pretty boring if we were all robotically positive. You for example would be St. Jay!

I agree, and I'm voicing mine.

Actually, you being a more mature person would cheer me up and not having to resort to sarcasm  And I never said I was a saint. Like I said, I run a website and a board, so I know all about what is interesting topics and such, and I unfortunately know all about e-drama.

Pure poetry Jay1982

The only thing I'd like to comment on is the "posts of predictions" made by the members on GoHabs. We know we can't really predict the future & we know we can't rely on the past, therefore.... everything on here is related to how the poster is feeling & who was at fault or the hero @ the time of the post. I'm sure no one would complain if they knew the final season outcome. i.e How Huet is playing now or do we or don't we make the playoffs. The forum would be really boring if all we did was praise players regardless of their play or stay silent while they were losing, instead of venting the frustrating points. Some might go to the extreme & say they've given up hope.... but they haven't, it's just the passion talking. & we do have some of the most passionate fans in the sport.

Good rant - no, great rant -  Jay.

However, I take exception to the above line.  I can think of several posters who bash the Habs' players when they lose, and say nothing when they win..............

thats the point... its not a negative comment or two. it's stupid.  completely stupid. i have been a member of gohabs.com for a loooooooooong time.  fought it out with habarounie, forum fan, and some old guy (who i cant remember his name) and the quality of posts has declined steadily.

its gone from red-flags to sheer and total pessimism... to quote roy shivers 'wake up chicken little, the sky isnt falling'  like i posted yesterday 'damned if u do, damned if u dont'

Like a bad powerplay, you missed the point.  I agree with Jay, there are those that are very back and forth.  But, I don't blame people because, in a rollercoaster season, it is hard not to.  We've been all over the standings, had great stretches of misery and wonder and even when we win 10 of 12, we barely make it to the clinch.

But there are some posters here who love to rag on certain targets who they fail to register points.  (By this, I refer to the posters who fail to register a point.)

I'm with you on that Kevin, I'm good with differing opinions, even ones I completely don't agree with.  I just get completely fed up with the negative spewing peiople who tell us so and so's an idiot or a moron and should be fired...FIFTY TIMES!!!  Seriously, how unproductive is that?!?!

Optimists beat Pessimists 1-0! We made it boys, whether some of you like it or not! :)

Thanks Jay, I posted a similar rant a few days ago and a previous one about a month ago (but as responses to posts), but no support, so I am glad you are getting some and I am throwing my hat in the pile. Let's keep the positive pressure on! :)

I actually don't know what you guys are trying to say or point fingers at?????

My problem is with posters that actually didn't care if we made the playoffs or not. That blows my mind!

The best thing is us in the playoffs....you just never know what can happen etc..if your goalie gets hot. Also the huge revenue it brings Gainey and team.

How about neither? Leave those two emotions for the Leaf fans...try optimism, it feels much better
