Chara will NOT be back in Ottawa next year. Bryan Murray is a close friend of a friend of mines uncle and they were talking not long ago, and supposetly, Chara is asking for 8 million. Unless he loweres that a couple, he wont be resigned. SOOOO i think its fair to say that we wont be getting him either,....he is good...but not 8 million good. I expect him to go to Minnesota, Toronto, St. Louis or Chicago. All these teams will be spending again this summer....and are dumb enough to pay 8 for him...

TSN is also saying the chances are Bertuzzi and Jovanovski wont be back next year either in Vancouver. Let me be the first to say FORGET ABOUT BERTUZZI!!!!! I DONT WANT THIS GUY AND HE DOES NOT FIT WITH THE HABS! Jovanovski however for the right price could fit. He is apparently asking for top $$$ too...

I think the big oaf can't spit out the words "for 2 years". Even 4 million for Chara, I don't know. I remember Kovalev walking around him like he wasn't even there, a few times. He is big, and a decent d man, but he is not Pronger, or Rob Blake. 3 million tops for this guy.
I think it's not official they were saying that they have to choose between keeping Redden or Chara, but 8 million is WAY too much, is he Peter Forsberg ???
Peter Forsberg isn't worth 8 million either. Maybe 8 million for 3 years for Forsberg. I think that is the only way he could play 82 games, if he had 3 seasons to do it.

Hah true man, SO injury prone, too bad because him alongside Jagr are the best in the world. I wouldn't put Thornton up there yet or Ovechkin.
I agree that a healthy Forsberg is one of the best in the world. But as for Ovechkin not being in there? Have you seen this guy play? My god I have never seen anything like it. I think the only true phenom to come into the league this year, not taking anything away from Sid, but Ovechkin is amazing. A true one man show.

Im sorry, injury prone or not, 2.6 million a year is NOT even close to enough for Forsberg. Yes, the guy has been injury prone of late, but even at that, he deserves more than 2.6 mill. Really, think about it. The player who is probably #2 in the world right now, only getting paid 2.6 million? Until he went down....he was top of the scoring race, and is the reason Gagne has had such a great year. A good player isnt just someone who can put the puck in the net, but someone who makes the players around him better aswell. Thornton is a GREAT example of that. Since he has gone to San Jose, Cheechoo has been INSANE! And Thornton is a couple assists away from hitting the 100 mark for the year. A true TEAM player.

The 8 million for 3 years was total sarcasim. I agree that Forsberg is amazing. Was just taking a jab at how injury prone he is. And I totally agree about Thornton. These guys are world class players, and the type of guys you build a franchise around.

Ya imagine if Thornton reaches that wow, that's like Adam Oates in his prime.
