We are a three line team without Begin on fourth. That guy provides tremendous energy to that line and was a missing link to any effectiveness at all. The Habs looked like their heart was missing Begin's pulse tonight.

Gainey needs to tinker some to get a balanced attack going against Boston. With core guys tired like Saks, Kovy, Markov, Souray and Rivet, we need to squeak one out against Boston so we can start resting players.

This is what I would try. Plecs, Murray and Perez on fourth/ Bonk, Zed and Bulis on third/ Ribs, Kovy and Ivanans(if we can call him up in time) on second/ Higgins, Ryder and Saks on first. Roll all four lines over evenly and hope for a few heroes to emerge.

Anyway...I hope we can find a way to beat Boston, so we can just rest players and think about the playoffs. Why kill ourselves by trying to beat Sabres and New Jersey with a tired team. Call up a few players and rest as many as possible.

This team was lucky to play teams below them or beat up like the Sens during this streak. We need every single advantage against the top teams when playoffs start so REST, REST AND MORE REST could be a big weapon while other teams jockey for positioning.

One more thing...during playoffs, make Downey useful by fetching potatoes for the boys.

This all sounds good. I think rolling four lines at this stage is not a bad idea. Gives some of the top guys some rest.

But Ivanans? Now?

We've got what we've got, and maybe Lapierre.

Ivanans is so raw he needs a lot of time on the farm.
