after watching the last couple of games you get the vib that this team has come together and they support each other, but huet is the man.

It's a good strategy by Gainey. If Huet is competitive, it will drive him to play harder to hang on to his job. If he falters, in comes Aebischer fighting to take the job away from Huet. Huet is the clear number one, but he will have to continue his steller play to keep the #1 job. Textbook coaching!

Ya Huet's starting the playoffs but one bad game and it'll be back and forth ......And Abby is really good in the playoffs when I watched 2 yrs ago.

Maybe you should forget about gut feelings and rely on logic...or change your avatar. Either way, there will be no controversy. Either one goalie plays or the other. Neither has pledged allegence to the blue-blanc-et-rouge, so whoever makes us win, they have my support. If it were the old story of Huet vs Theo maybe then I'd buy it. But, we all know why Aebi is here and it isn't to replace Theo.

Personally I think controversy is overrated. It's usually just someone trying to make a name for themselves.

One thing one of my friends pointed out to me was the happiness displayed after AB gets the win. Not sure if he is a good locker room guy or the team really likes him but they seem to really congradulate him when he wins...

I think it is great to have 2 guys you can go to if need be.

The one thing I heard while watching the Avs game is that they really miss Abby in the locker room.  Goalies generally are good locker room guys.  We all know about the Theo room problems, but most goalies are really good team guys.  As for a goaltending controversy, the only way we have any problems is if Huet continues to give up rebounds like he has the past few games (while looking tired).  But without this, I really believe it is going to be Huet, his save %, gaa, and shut outs speak for themselves.

I've always heard that they are not very good "locker room" guys as for the most part, they are crazy.  Whether it's superstitions or downright intensity getting geared up for the game, they are usually unapproachable.  Now, outside in the real world, I have heard that they are great guys to be around, because they are generally crazy.

I have always heard the opposite, great in the room, crazy in real life.  If you get a chance to read Dave Schultz' book, you will see what I mean.  BTW I was going to use that same avatar, but you beat me to it.  Gotta love it man.  I can watch it over and over again.  But I did hear from the Avs' announcers how good Abby is in the room, and I really think the big goaltending contrevery will be next year if we resign Huet.  Can you imagine Huet and Luongo bidding for our #1 spot

They're all different. The "all goalies are crazy" myth dates back to the days of Glen Hall, Jacques Plante, Roger Crozier, Terry Sawchuck and company. Those guys were ALL crazy, they had to be to face guys like Boom Boom & Bobby Hull and the like with no mask and really crappy equipment. I played rep hockey in the 70's and was a goalie and let me tell you, the pro level equipment was garbage...EVERY shot hurt and left a mark. Today, yes the players shoot, on average, much harder, but the goalies are wearing suits of armour that protect 100 times better. I've played in the new pro level equipment and I can tell you, when you know it's not going to hurt you play braver and you have no fear.

So, my theory is that most of the new goalies are pretty normal guys with the odd nutbar (i.e. Patrick Roy) tossed in.
