I went to see what I guess is the Western Canadian premier of the movie, The Rocket last night and I have to say that I was totally impressed.  If you are a Habs fan you will want to see this one.  Really got some emotion flowing in me. Sean Avery plays a goon and there are a few other cameos in there - Dandenault, Lecavalier.  I think it already had it's run in Quebec a few months back so some of you may have seen it.

I recorded the game on my PVR, so I headed home and watched it after the movie.  Maybe I was all riled up after watching a movie on the Habs, but I had formulated some (likely biased) observations:

1)  That was the loudest I have ever heard the Bell Centre (at least through the TV).  It was totally rocking last night.  Was anyone there to witness that?

2) Zednick played like he actually WANTED to score.  He was buzzing all over the ice.  What a great way to end it last night.  Did you see the stone cold look on his face after he scored (and got smashed in to the crossbar)?  It basically said, "I'm back".

3) All the talk of Ribs being the most improved, but Sheldon Souray has come a long way - maybe the most improved.  I concede that I gave up on him a few months ago and I was sorely wrong.  This guy is one of the pulses that makes this team go.  He looked like a Norris trophy winner last night.

4) No denying what Murray and Downey bring to this team.  Some size and feistiness that was sorely missing.

5) I told the non-believers to be patient with Aebischer.  He was sensational last night.  Congratulations!!!  We now have the best goalie tandem in the league.

6) Is Higgins a 5 year veteran?  He sure plays like one.  He is so composed and so dangerous.  Does it at both ends of the ice.

7) We need Bulis in the line-up. Creativity and Explosiveness.  Almost scored a beauty.

8) Gainey is a genius.  He's got these guys all playing at the top of their games.  AND he tinkers with the lines almost every game....totally amazing.

8) Last but not least...this team finally looks like a play-off team.  What a great time of the year to get hot.
