I don't have a source but i was just in Hamilton and he didn't play. he's not injured and came off a big game Saturday. I've also been hearing alot of stuff that he has been recalled due to begin's injury. Does anyone know for sure?

The only problem is that while in hamilton i saw him upstairs, i didn't talk to him (Didn't recognize him untill it was too late)

I have heard that too, but so far I haven't been able to find a source for it, really wouldn't surprise me though, he would be a decent replacement for Begin.

If you want the guy who plays a similar style to Begin then Lapierre is your man.

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the team has recalled forward Maxim Lapierre from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Lapierre, a 21-year-old rookie, has played 73 games for the Bulldogs this season, collecting 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) and 214 penalty minutes. The native of St. Leonard, Quebec was recalled by the Canadiens on November 14, and made his NHL debut on November 15 against the Florida Panthers. He was assigned to Hamilton on November 19.

Lapierre was selected by Montreal in the second round, 61st overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Called up today. Interesting to see if he is on the bench or in the press box.

I wonder if he could be the replacement for Downey on the checking line next year. He is a right-handed shot who can play center and wing, so it gives us more face-off options which is a big bonus on a D line.

I would replace Downey with anyone in a heart beat.
