We all turn in to Nostrodomus this time of year, BUT the Habs should beat Boston thursday (2pts), so if they can pick up another win or 2 ties, that should seal the deal unless someone goes on a Montreal-like streak to end the season. Ottawa and Buffalo are both vulnerable right now, so I dont think it is too unrealistic to see Habs in for the second season.

You may be right, but a Hab win plus a Leaf/Atlanta loss would make the magic number 2.

"Magic number" is 2 1/2. Montreal has 89 points. Atalanta has 83, with 5 games left. The best they can do is 93 points. Therefore, Montreal needs, at this time, 94 to lock them out. 5 points = 2.5 "Magic Numbers"(?)

Why don't we just make the magic number 5 instead of 2.5. 5 as in pts needed to clinch a playoff spot.
