 Any news on Begin's knee?

For the medical gang, did that look like a sprained cruciate with that hyper-flexion type injury? If it's torn, he's probably out till next season or what do think?

What a huge potential playoff loss.

This is what it said on TSN about Bégin's knee.

"Canadiens winger Steve Begin sprained his left knee late in the first when he fell awkwardly after taking a slash from Devils defenceman Ken Klee. Begin was helped off the ice, putting no weight on the knee, and taken to hospital. He will undergo an MRI exam Sunday and will be re-evaluated by doctors then.

Canadiens coach Bob Gainey said the loss of Begin hurt his team's chances of winning."

I hope he come's back soon.

Very disheartening.   No matter when he returns, lets hope he continues to bring the same fire and intensity to the lineup.   No Begin, no Bouillon.   Makes me misty.

Funny, I always put those two (Begin & Bouillon) together in my mind too.  Two similar guys - not overloaded with talent, but hearts as big as all outdoors.

I think Bouillon will be back soon, but I'm not holding out great hope for Begin.  The way he fell and put the 'stretch' to the knee was not pretty.

Apparently Bouillon will be ready for the play-offs; maybe a game or two before. I am also worried about Begin, as sprains can be far worse than breaks sometimes...

Any word on the MRI results.  Hopefully not, the less we hear about MRI results the better.

I looked around the web for a while, but I can't find anything at all on it.

From TSN.ca

The Montreal Canadiens look like they'll have to make do without forward Steve Begin, who arrived at the Bell Centre on crutches on Sunday.

Begin sprained his left knee late in the first period of Saturday's 3-2 loss to New Jersey when he fell awkwardly after taking a slash from Devils defenceman Ken Klee.

Begin was helped off the ice, putting no weight on the knee, and taken to hospital. He had an MRI on Sunday and will see a doctor on Tuesday.

I hope he's o.k.

Seeing a doctor on Tuesday is not a good sign.  OH NO!!!

Murray should take begin's spot on the checking line.  With Zed getting back in the lineup.  Not sure if you want Zed or Bulis with Ribs/Kovy, or Pleks/Perez though.

This is where we find out what the team is made of. Crunch time and missing the heart of the team. They had to deal with the loss of Kovalev, Koivu and Markov earlier on in the season and it hurt them. Aside from Markov being out a few games, the team has really not had to deal with injuries lately. Let's see if this team is as "together" now as they seem tgo be. Get 'er done boys!

I hope it's just to explain the sprain & to give him his recovery time line..... & not to give him "bad news" . (i.e surgery)

We need him

if it were up to Begin, he'd be out there against Ottawa crutches and all. Usually with a knee sprain, you're out for at least 3 weeks, sadly I dont think we'll be seeing Begin come playoffs.
