I can honestly I never like Tucker from day one, he is a yappy little chihahau (is that how you spell it?). At least when he started when he got hit he would take it like a man and not go head-hunting....Now that he is a "STAR" every time he gets hit he feels like it was not clean and he has been disrespected...the reality is Tucker needs to grow and stop going after people knees and sending domiesque elbows.
Anyone watch the laffs/Sabres highlites last night? Our friend Tucker through another phantom elbow at a player(I couldn't tell who) and that player came back at him with a cross check and got caught. Yes Tucker actually goated a penalty out of it. Maybe he's now using it as a secret weapon to piss off opposition because he knew how well it worked with Kovy. If he keeps doing it, the league better step in!
"We totally outworked them. It's unfortunate we have to be done in by a cheap shot at the end of the game by Tucker," Ruff said. "It was a knee on a knee hit. He goes after his head. He dives after; he's known as a diver. He couldn't take the hit that we gave him, so he knocks our guy out of the lineup for probably weeks. That's a joke.
"I want him suspended. I want him fined. I'll come to the hearing. I haven't called the league once. I'll call them 10 times tomorrow."
(Sabres winger Mike Grier flattened Tucker with a clean but thunderous check just inside the Toronto zone midway through the third period. Tucker then went after Hecht, who received a high-sticking penalty. Tucker wasn't penalized.)
"If you go knee on knee and take a shot at the guy's head at the same time, you don't deserve to be in the game," Ruff added. "We're going to the playoffs and you take out one of our best players because you couldn't take a hit. That's an absolute joke."
Ruff got louder as he spoke, yelling down the hallway toward Toronto's locker room.
"Suspend him. Get out the game. I've had enough of that. It's a joke!" Ruff said before storming off.
Well I"m from Fredericton, I remember when he played here on the Fredericton Canadiens when they were the farm team for the Habs, nobody liked him here either, he was always whining about something
Also, it seems like Tucker thinks that he can gesture an elbow to the head and get away with it. To me that is just as bad as when Boynton made the neck slicing gesture. The league should suspend him!
Thanks Adam13 and MC girl for adding specifics as I just caught the elbow gesture on Hecht (spelling?).
Maybe Ruff and Quinn should have had it out in the hall! LOL
Seriously though, Tucker's a punk and always has been. That pic (thanks Adam) says it all.
I can't believe the league lets him get away with that crap. I'll give him a little credit for getting back up after Kovy almost took his head off, but that's where any credit ends.
Just watched the replays - it's funny that he was hit by Grier yet went after someone else. Just goes to show what type of player he is. At least Domi tries to go "david vs goliath". Tucker, well, "david vs david jr" is his preferred style. It was an obvious knee on knee hit and intent to injure. I suspect he'll sit out at least 3. Should be more, but 3 is what I expect.

It's too bad, because he has the makings of a real gritty player, the kind you love on your team but hate to play against. Add in the cheap shots and whining and you're right, all he is is a punk.

Wow guys in the defense of Darcy though, every team wants a Darcy Tucker, just like a Matthew Barnaby, Dan Hinote, Steve Begin, Darius Kasparaitus etc.... But the plus is that Darcy can put up 20+ goals a year and he's really fast. I'd love it if he played for us, he's a little sh*t disturber.
I agree completely Habs & Avs, Tucker is the kind of player you love on your team. It's just that the cheap shots and whining really take away from his value IMHO.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but when was the last time Begin tried to end someones career? Some of his style is like that of Kasperitis and Tucker, and he is certainly no Lady Bing candidate, but Begin does not belong on that list. He plays with fire and intensity, but Begin seems to have respect for the game and the people who play it. Unlike Mr. Tucker.

Actually I prefer to have my habs with a touch of class...Tucker has zero. Would anyone else like to see the type of fire shown by Gainey or Carbo that Ruff showed? What a nice change from Gainey and Julien. Gainey get sreal upset sometimes and raises an eyebrow.

As I have said in a recent posts, the objective of Tucker and Domi is to injure and/or maime talented players on the opposition. McCabe and Sundin also have those tendencies but this year have seem to be able to control them.
If the league soon doesn't take a stand against this kind of action serious injury is going to be the result either from one of those two goons or from some player, like Bertuzzi, taking up for an injured team-mate. I agree with Bertuzzi's motive but not the cowardly way he choose to do it.
It is kinda strange how even a post about Tucker garners critism of Gainey from some fellow posters.

Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to see Tucker or any other Loaf in a Habs uniform!!!
I just watched that Tucker knee-on-knee. What a total meathead he is. He actually has the balls to dive afterwards when Hecht gives him a shove. I don't know if there is anyone I dislike more in the game than Tucker. I hope he stays in a Leafs uniform for the rest of his career, that way I have 2 reasons to hate him...

He won't, I see the Red Wings or the Avalanche or the Stars picking him up, a big team. I don't always agree on Tucker's actions but he's a great asset to have. But I'd rather have someone who does it more cleanly like Neil or Avery.
Last I checked players like Ian Laperriere, Jarko Ruutu, Darren McCarty, Steve Begin, Chris Neil, Jordin Tootoo, Matt Cooke, and even Sean Avery (runs his mouth, but doesn't run people) all have more class than Tucker...he has always been a cheap shot artist and he learned from the best...having played with Sundin (one of the dirtiest skilled players in the game) and Tie Domi (whose elbows seem to accidentally concuss people away from the play).
I still don't understand how you can be so stupid as to get so angry when you get hit you are almost willing to ruin someone else's career. Take the hit get back up and score a goal, or wait til next shift and dish out your own punishment.
Someone mentioned they would love Tucker on the habs. In my opinion, no flipping way, we had him before and couldn't wait for the Habs to get rid of him. If you watch him after plays stop he is always chirping at the ref, complaining about something. At the end of the periods he is always skating along the ref saying something. I believe Barry mentioned that the Habs intent is to sign guys with a touch a class, well signing Darcy would definetly a major step backwards. The two phantom elbows he has thrown could of knocked out to major stars for their respected teams (Kovy and Johan Hecht)
This punk will end up getting cross checked with a nine iron on April 19.
I saw an interview with Daniel Briere (sp?) last night and he said (and I am paraphrasing) the only good thing is that we (Sabres) will be in the playoffs and Tucker will be golfing. I love when someone says what everyone is thinking to the media.

Right on Habual" --begin" is nothing like that piece of S**t ,I hated him even when he was with the HABS. And as far as calling him MR. you're being waaaaaaaaaay to polite.
