How did it work that the Canadiens got both the Leafs AND the Bruins two in a row at home this season? I can only imagine what next year will bring for us in the scheduling!

nice spidy-

the stats are a nice touch.   according to the numbers, we should play Boston more than 8 times a season.   anybody going to the game on the 13th in beantown?

Well, I think I would be pretty foolish to predict another shutout for Huet at the hands of Boston. I still think we'll win, but it won't be a shutout.

Still, if Huet was to do that, it would be absolutely unbelievable! I really can't wait for this game, because Montreal - Boston games are always exciting.

great history, but last few years have been really great.   would like to upset a NEW foe in the first round of the playoffs this year...

Maybe, but I never get tired of eliminating Boston.

And while we may not have gotten then in the playoffs, we were the team that officially eliminated them from playoff contention this year!

Knocking the Booins or the Laffs out is almost as good as a Stanley, IMHO!

The best ive felt about my habs unfortunately is only a quarter final win. I dont know what its like as a fan to have my team in the latter rounds or win the cup for that case. Still a youngin...but the day will come soon enough....sooner than any leaf fans my age anyway...

I hope whoever plays with Kovy and Ribs tonite, that they help those two play better.  Its probably going to be the all-work Garth Murray...who actually has some underrated offensive skills.  I really thought the Ribber turned his season around when I saw him flying all over the ice against the Flyers a while back....turns out I was wrong.

I don't understand how when a whole line isn't producing like Ribeiro-Zednik-Kovalev, only Zednik is being hated on by the fans and the press..yes he hasn't had his best season but he played pretty well on saturday.  One thing is clear though, he has absolutely 0 chemistry with Ribs and Kovy.

I think we will win tonight...Boston is just one of those teams we own...and we need the win pretty bad too.  I think KOMOCOP, Captain K will lead the way to a nice victory....HOPEFULLY FOR ONCE IT DOESN'T COME DOWN TO A ONE GOAL GAME AGAIN.

I'm going out on a limb, 3-0 Habs. The Bruins are decimated with injuries, and completely out of it. That and I really want Christo to catch Kipper for the shutout lead

In a normal year, beating up on the Bruins would rank right up there with getting hired to shoot SI's next swimsuit calendar. But this year, even the die-hard Bruins fans have moved on. Nobody's paying any attention to the team at all. I think that's why they fired O'Connell -- just to get a few inches of ink in the Globe.

Nevertheless, every year since 1971, when I listened to the radio as the rookie Ken Dryden ("SAVE by Dry-den!!!) stoned the Bs, I've looked forward to every playoff round so that we could add to their misery.

We won't be able to oust them this year; they took care of thatthemselves. But we can make the rest of the season even worse for them -- with a 5-2 win tonight.

Les Canadiens sont la

You're right, one of my buddies is a die hard Bruins fan and he no longer talks about them at all. In fact when someone else brings it up he just shakes his head and changes the subject to the Sudbury Wolves. Yo know it's bad when your rabid die hard fans won't even talk about how bad you are!

What I like about Murray is (stop me if you've heard this before) that he crashes to the net.  He scored four of his five goals that way - on up-close tip-ins - and on the other one (the first one Saturday on the Perezhogin pass) he showed some surprising skating speed and a good touch around the net.

He certainly deserves to be in the lineup.  Whether you delete Downey or Zednik in favour of Bulis I don't care.

Just got home, so I missed the first period.

Other than no scoring and the 14-8 edge in shots, how did it go?
