Too many missed opportunities to put the game away last night (especially on the PP) resulted in Koivu receiving +20 minutes of icetime...while Souray & Rivet each logged +28 minutes! In addition to this, Markov saw +24 minutes of icetime!!!
...history has shown over-and-over-and-over that these guys just can't string too many of these types of efforts together without problems!
Gainey/Carbo have legitimate alternatives to balance out the time...why not use them???
Why not more Murray??? More Bulis??? More Begin??? Use Sunny more? Play Dandy more? Why not more Komi?

I agree especially on the PP. If the boys can't get her done after about 8 of them, try different horses.
At this point in the season, I also would be worried about burning out Saks again. We witnessed his post Olympic slump....do we want another one at playoffs? The guy is playing better, why push it? That line seems to be clicking with great chemistry and especially the solid play of Higgins(who can do it all) lately but we still need balanced attack from every line.
Hopefully next game, Gainey can get back to more even ice through out the lines. I'm actually not to worried about Kovy getting lots of ice time as he can handle it but there's players that I certainly wouldn't push too much at this stage. Even Markov with his back troubling him, I would be careful.
Games are about 10X harder to win in April...and having to play 5-8 guys for +20 minutes wears a team down quickly!
My point is simple...Gainey needs to recognize this...and since the PP wasn't working with many of these guys last night...why keep logging minute-after-minute with the same crew only to sit and wonder why guys wear-out!

That's what I was saying come on after going 0-8 MIX things up goddamn. I woulda threw out a hero line of like Ryder-Koivu-Kovalev-Souray-Markov.... Or give some other ppl like Plekanec played a good game too and he didn't get rewarded.....
