Anyone ever hear anything bad about this kid? Me neither!
He is always smiling (although he needs to brush his teeth)! He is almost always the fastest skater...and he can hit like a train!
In fact, Bulis can play any role on any line!!!
What team in the NHL wouldn't want a Jan Bulis???
...and can ANYONE explain to And-o why the likes of Mike Ribeiro can simply waltz around the ice and get MEGA PP minutes while a guy like Jan Bulis sits???
Jan Bulis will score +30 goals next season in another uniform if Gainey doesn't get his head outta his arse on this one!!!
I was already bitching about the same points as you mentioned. I have no idea what he is thinking. The only thing I do know is that they have won 5 in a row, but surely they are a better team with him in the line-up? He is at THE VERY LEAST better than Ribsy?

absolutely right. this is the only thing that is really pissing me off, because we are going to lose a player who gives effort every game and has shown he has at least a checking line spot on the this team! Gainey must really have something against Bulis. What is the reaason for this nonsense???? Zednik hasnt done S#%t!!!!
i bet on Bulis's worst day...he is a better defensive, grinder, forechecker, whatever you want to call it, than Downey!
We are going to lose a player who will someday in this league be a constant 30 goal scorer. Whatch!!!!
Yeah, 17 goals and 17 assists in 65 games (+4)...on the checking line...skating with the 3rd and 4th liners!!! Cripes...this guy might have numbers better than both Kovy and Koivu this season if given the proper linemates!!! Think about it gang...would you resign in Montreal if you were Jan??? NO WAY!!! ...surely there is more to this story?!?!?! And it must be something baaaaadddddd!
There must be something more. At this stage of the season, with the players that we have right now, why would you bench him for 4 games? Like I said in another post. Place him on any line and he won't ever look out of place. He didn't get chosen to represent his country in the Olympics because he's a good bench warmer. Ando, there something more to it, like u said.

Agree with you to a certain extent. Unquestionably Bulis would represent an upgrade over Riberio,Perezhogin and the way Zednik is playing at this moment. To say Bulis would/will score 30 plus goals next season is a bit of a stretch. He is 29, and this represnts his most productive season to date. In the last regular season there were times that he played on the first line and could not consistently score. Bulis does not have the hands of a goal scorer. He strikes me as a useful player that can bring a lot of things to the table, but not a real master of any one facet of the game.
Gainey has probably surmised that Bulis as ufa will be looking for a pay increase, with a salary close to 2 million a year, which is too rich. Perhaps, Bulis request for more powerplay time rubbed Gainey the wrong way. Gainey might have thought the request as away for Bulis to pad his stats coming into free agency. It would seem that at the forward position Gainey has slotted his forwards into certain roles: the goal scorers, checkers and physical players. For their roles, Bulis will not unseat Murray,Begin or Downey. For whatever reason Gainey does not view Bulis as a top 6 forward who has enough offensive ability to unseat the current top 6 forwards. And as such, on the third line Plekanec represents a younger cheaper option than Bulis, so he falls victim to Gainey's perception of his abilities and future price tag which he deems too high.
This is really confussing to me also. Why would he sit out a free agent to be to de-value him? It's not like Bulis will sign now. I also agree with Bulis, why didn't he trade him? If Gainey is thinking saving Cap room and not signing him than he could of at least traded him for a prospect or even Branden Witt rather than Simpson.
I don't get it but I think Gainey is screwing up a little here. I guess Gainey doesn't see his value like we do. He is so much more the complete player than Zed. How many forwards can play all three forward position on our team? Heck, this guy could probably play D tomorrow and be better than Simpson already.
I guess it's too late now. We have an angry player that is a great professional so luckily I don't think he'll dog it when he gets a chance to play.
I would of used him with Bonk and Begin last night rather than Downey at least.
