I have been having loads of problems for the last 2 days trying to log on or even get the site up

You're not alone. The site's having a few problems right now even. I have to try to post 3 times before it works.

Tried all last night and had no luck.  Seems to be alright today.

It looks to me like the forums host site, sparklit, it the cause of the problems. It was toast from about 9 pm last night to this morning and has been hit and miss today, although it seems fine now.
