I like the line-up

I like the way the lines are now. Any line can score. There's much needed balance. Bonk can probably play where he should be, on second line but with the way he can play on PK and the extra scoring he's bringing that line, I would leave him with Begin. Also like when we have a seventh d-man because it means Kovy is double shifted to fourth line from time to time. It gives our most skilled forward more ice. Just feel bad when a guy like Bulis has to sit when this happens.

With guys like Downey, Bulis and Sundstrom sitting out, it means we finally have a little depth and toughness in the lineup taking their place. It means Gainey can keep alternating players to give some much needed rest. I think Bulis is tired and it will benefit him in the long run.

Right-on AB!

And-o digs the balanced attack that seems to be emerging.

...make no mistake though, Gainey/Carbo know what Bonk adds in terms of size and strength...and what he is capable of adding as games get harder in the final minutes.

Did you just love the forechecking that Bonk and Begin forced on the Isle's in the final 5 minutes or what?!?!?  Ain't it just great to have the physical presence available to "scuttle" those last minute face-offs...block shots...tie up the oppositions Ace...poke pucks away using that big wing-span...etc...!  It sure beats switching into full "MAYDAY" mode while the goalie carries the whole damn load!

Bonk will be a key factor in the playoffs while his play now keeps improving. Like you mention, he adds an element of defensive play that we never had before. he more than makes up for the loss of Juneau and Dowd if his play keeps up. I think he looks more confident and comfortable out there. Also I note during posts goals and games that the players give him alot of positive feedback. He's well liked. Also to keep in mind, he has more playoff experience than most of our team.

Yeah, And-o -- I agree that they did a real good job of tieing up the Isles' big gunners. Satan has been a Hab-killer since the day he was hatched, and Yashin has dialed up his game lately, too. Really sweet to keep them off the board.

We also did a good job of mucking things up after face-offs, but I thought that we lost far too many key faceoffs, especially late in the game. It would be nice to improve in that area.

Les Canadiens sont la
