When interviewed by a journalist this week, Souray said that since he’s been a Hab, the team has never been so unified and together. Souray has been a Hab since 1999 and you mean to tell me that this year’s version of the Habs is the most unified group in the last 7 years?
All year we’ve been hearing reports on how the team is divided and there are several cliques in the dressing room. His comments are not only unexpected but also somewhat confusing. Does he mean in the last 2 weeks? If that’s what he meant, I agree to a certain extent. If there is one thing that Gainey has done almost to perfection is keep the core players together and keep all the players honest. No effort, you sit out.
I expect it is as much a case of Souray using positive thinking and messages then anything. Certainly there was no way this team was unified earlier in the season (anyone watching and listening could see that) but lets face it. Winning breeds contentment.

I realized that players are not paid to give good interviews. Souray should of said that although it may have not been the case earlier in the season, today the team is unified.
I think Souray is being honest. It may of been worse at the start of the season but it was worse before that going back to 1999 and probably before that.
Sad to say but an un-uninified team had alot to do with lack of success over that time.
I don't know what is changing but I'm glad the guys are coming together. I'm thinking Carbs return and leadership has something to do with it.

I think the players can only benefit being around a trio like Carbo/Gainey/Jarvis. The desire to win can become addictive when you are around Carbo, he's always despised losing.
