HUET HUET HUET!!!!!!!
Permalink Closed

Nothing greater than listening to habs fans chanting his name. ITs been a LONG time since fans in montreal chanted THEO THEO THEO, and hearing Huets name was quite weird at first, but its grown on me, as has Huet. I REALLY hope he resigns for next year. Forget the france league Heuy...your playing for the greatest team in the NHL right now.

I  say now that huet has locked up the starting job and the rush of the fans calling his name, he will STAY.

He's just too damn good to let go! With our major goaltending issues we've been having, it's nice to have "Hip Hip Huet" tending for us.

NOTE TO BOB, You'd better pay, (& we'd better pray) to have Huet stay. OK? lol

I think he will stay because the fans love him and its always fun to play in a place where the fans love you. Also he probobly likes the fact that he can speak his native tongue all over Montreal.

What I find most impressive is Huet's composure and mental toughness.  He came into a potentially destructive situation and has shown a great deal of confidence which seems to have had the right effect.  I smile when I see Huet start because know he is going to give the Habs a great chance to win.  Once Abby gets it together watch out.  We'll have a killer tandem.

Also, doesn't this remind anyone of '71 or '86 when a couple of goalies surprised the hockey world by coming in and shining for the Habs.  Let's see what this fellow can do come playoff time.

I have faith in Bob to do the right thing on this one, nearly everything he has touched so far has come up roses in Montreal despite some being criticized early.

Kovalev for Balej who??

Garon for Huet and Bonk

Murray for Hossa.

Steve Begin for nothing.

Downey and Simpson have looked good.

Even his big mistake (too much $ for theo has been corrected).

Anything I'm missing??

Yeah apparently Huet and is agent, with Bob Gainey have decided to wait until after the season to discuss contract.

Personally, seeing how Huet grew up as a Habs fan, knowing its history, enjoying success, the warm reception he receives, I would be very surprised if he signs elsewhere.  Methinks there is a will to get a deal done.

Funny thing I saw the other night after the Leafs-Habs game on Thursday.  We must have been over 50 people with media access in the drssing room.   Huet was still with his undergarments, and hadn;t had the time to remove his athletic support.  It was too funny to see.

Actually they are allowed.   But seeing that it was my 4th time in the dressing room, and I am trying to get on Dominic's good side (Dominic administers the traffic in there) I didn't bring mine along.

ha ha ha  wasn't it not to long ago pierre mcquire (for TSN) was saying HUET wasn't a # 1 goalie .Which like I said then, how can anyone say a goalie is not a # 1 if he doesn't get to play many games . HA HA HA ,good for you HUET.

he already lost the game as far as I am concerned. Abby will be shabby .It just pisses me off that he will not go with Huet. The Pens will again get to Abby. We need these two points, I guess BG just did not learn his lesson last time around. Sorry for the rant but I cannot believe his decision

Well Huet isn't so great in back to back games and this is the Pens here not the Red Wings....Huet has the bigger team NYI. Wow don't forget that Aebischer was the number 1 in Colorado for a reason, he won a lot of games by himself there, i've seen him perform very well, having watched all Col. games this season. He'll do his job.

I can believe it DB, but I agree it's the wrong call. So Huet played last night. So what? So did every other player. Let's pray that the team plays well in front of Abby. He flops around in that crease like a seal with hemorroid problems. We'll just have to cross our fingers.

Les Canadiens sont la
