i don't expect much sympathy or courtesy shown to me here...but i'm going to vent anyways!


i've been a "laffs" fan all my life. i believe that if you're from a certain city you should support your team. that isn't to say you can't like other teams. my father came from another country in 1965 and quickly fell in love with hockey. i grew up with my dad as a habs fan but he still followed the leafs and understood my loyalty to my hometeam. i grew up watching the exciting 70's teams of "les glorieux" and marveled at thier speed and execution. my best friend is a habs fan because even though he lives in toronto...his dad and cousins are from montreal. i understand his loyalty too. i was in the forum during the finals in '93 watching the games on the big screen when the series went to los angeles after my leafs were knocked out by the hated kings. i celebrated on ste. catherines in my leafs jersey after each game win and was embraced by habs fans since it becomes a canadian/ u.s. thing at that stage. habs fans came up and hugged me assuring me that as a leaf fan, revenge would be mine when the habs crushed the kings under the mighty skate of st. patrick. i have always liked the habs and thier fans...till now!


yes, the leaf organization is pitiful and yes, we won't make the playoffs this year. it doesn't take a genius to figure this out. the things being put up on this message board are so narrow-minded and steeped in fantasy it's unbelievable. first off, there is no leafs-habs rivalry...there hasn't been one since the first expansion out of the original 6. second, you can question the ethics of darcy tucker all you want but let me bring up 2 names of players being crucified in the montreal media and all over the league last playoffs...kovalev & ribeiro. remember how they were vilified for their character as divers, cheap shot artists and for folding in the playoffs. all of a sudden kovalev is put on a pedestal for a plainly gutless move. i've never seen an elbow so premeditated and blatent in my life. tucker gets under the skin of the opposition...that's his job! if he was garbage as all of you insist then why is he constantly being sought after by other g.m.'s when they contact the leafs. even demers has admitted this on hot stove lounge. rivet going after sundin after mats showed some spunk is shameful...notice that none of our "cheap-shot artists" went after koivu or ran huet.


anyways...good wins by the habs! except they pummeled a team clearly on their way down. sure it must be fun to rub this in the faces of leafs fans (and theres nothing we can do about poor decision making by mgmt.) but " IF " the habs make the playoffs do you all think that they will go anywhere? call a spade a spade...you guys don't deserve to be in the playoffs anymore than we do. look at who you've lost to recently and look who'll you'll face the rest of the way. the easy games (leafs) are over...now is gut check time for the habs and i don't think they have it in them...too many passengers. a cowardly elbow isn't going to redeem you in the playoffs, but if that's what you want to celebrate...


anyways...my point is...i USED to be a habs fan. i considered them my second team even when they weren't making the playoffs a few seasons ago. the team has changed character dramatically as seems their die-hard fans. there's not a hab on the roster besides koivu that reflects the class of past glory. we may never get another cup for a long time in "laffs-land" but it's good to know we have you guys to join us in stanley's drought!

Are you defending Tucker? 


Wow, what color is the sky in the city you are from?  A second rate player and know cheap shot artist takes a run at a known superstar in the last 2 minutes of a blow out and you defend him?  My god pal take off the blue and white blinders.  My biggest question is what was the homo Tucker crying more about?  Getting his ass handed to him by Kovy or the fact that his pathetic excuse for a team just saw any slim chance of the playoffs gone.  There is nothing better than seeing a midget puke like Tucker get flattened.  I am sure if Kovy gets a game for the elbow Tucker will get one for his attempted elbow, plus the automatic one for instigating.  Plus, if Tucker wasnt 5'2 he would have taken Kovy's shoulder in the face, instead the little tiny puke took the big elbow, even if Kovy gets a game for it, I think any Habs fan will say it was worth it.  And the only reason GM's are interested in Tucker is because they figure the lowly Leafs (btw Leafs is not a word) would give him away for nothing, as it has been known for some time there chances of making the playoffs have been very slim since before the dead line.  GO HABS GO!

The fact is you "Make me Laugh" fan..... Tucker tried to hit everybody out there last night (& every other night) with cheap shot, after cheap shot, after cheap shot. He tried mixing it up with Rib's, then Kommy & then Kovalev. Did you not fricken see the cheap shot Tucker tried to get away with? Kovy simply let him know his true worth.... & that's about a great big ZERO!!!!


Go sulk with the other TML fans, Tucker dug his own grave, Kovy just helped him into it!

Read back on the board a bit and you will see that we have no illusions about our Habs chances in the playoffs, or even if they will make the playoffs, but we do have hope and this mini-series helped solidify it. As for players without class, that is certainly an unfair and untrue statement. Rivet did not just go out and mug Sundin. Sundin was being very chippy and using his stick for something other than puck movement before Rivet fish-hooked him. Kovalev took out Tucker with a blatant elbow after Tucker had done the same to Komi and Kovalev, amongst his usual dirty play. Yeah, there are a few players who certainly do not exemplify our sweater, but we know who they are and do not need you to tell us.
To put it simply, you have no right to come on here and lecture us as fans on how to be fans and slander our beloved organization when you have done no reading of past posts and are part of the most arrogant group of blind fanatics in pro-sports. Your post just proved it one more time.

It's pretty sad when Leaf fans have to come on our forum to sulk, that way they can stay anonymous. What a true coward, just like their beloved Leafs.

wow... you should be applauded for being a true beleafer.  u beleaf so much in your team that you are unable to seperate fact from fiction.  kaberle bailing on the first goal along the boards.  domi fighting before simpson had his gloves off and squared up.  antropov floating off the bench and getting outmuscled by bonk.  belak being hit hard by plekanec.  the laffs are a sad squad.


tucker got what he deserved, and so did the rest of the laffs.  what goes around comes around, and he got his from an unlikely source.  if tucker is not the punk that he is, why not  aim at high and downey?

The reason is because he's a small little puke!!!! Look at Richardson, he knew better than to mess with Downey. He thought Kovalev would take a cheap shot & keep on skating. Tucker's intent was to put out Kovalev. There was no other reason for it.... I mean come on, it's not like the Leafs had a chance @ that point.


Hey beLeafer, you & Tucker should go out dancing together. You make quite the couple!!!!

i don't remember slandering your "beloved organization" except to point out what i believe to be true. i understand that loyalty to your team will make any fan refuse to budge on different sides of any story. you paint all leaf fans with the same brush without really knowing any personally i'm sure because if you did you'd know that we've been complaining forever about the state of affairs. the last championship being in 1967 has a way of curing any denial...wouldn't you think?


i think i've upset a lot of people on here who are used to getting patted on the back for any comment they post on the habs...true or not. i expected more hockey knowledge and less low-level bashing (not from you but others) from habs fans...that "MC Girl" may as well be a SENS fan with her shallow comments! (hope that truth didn't hurt too much for her!)

Hmmm, 13 years isn't quite a drought...now 39 years, that's a drought! I have two favorite teams...the Habs and ANYBODY playing the Leafs
