Quite honestly, And-o didn't even notice Bulis was missing last night.  In fact, And-o just read this from another board!

If Gainey decided to go with 7 d-men...and some muscle...in lieu of someone else...was Jan Bulis the correct choice to sit-out?

gainey said that it was between him and perezhogin...and that gainey went with the zhogin was a good idea because he did crush the leafs hopes of coming back :) but i am quite desapointed with perezhogins playing...i mean i was expecting a whole lot from him....not ovechkin like but you know more then 9 goals....altough he dosent play a lot

Bulis being scratched for 7 D was mentioned in one of the game threads, but only briefly. Being one of my fav players, I was dissapointed, but I think Gainey was looking for offense and so went with Perez over Bulis. Right move.

Bulis has been very quiet lately.

Remember what happened last time when Bulis' spot in the lineup came under question?

Maybe he will respond with a hat-trick now that there's a fire lit under him!

Bulis was on fire for a few weeks prior to the Olympic break.  Then he sucked in the Olympics, and has sucked for the Habs ever since.  What a streaky player!  (I know - aren't they all?)

It is not the first time Bulis has been benched or talked about being benched - Didn't early this year, I think it was against The Flyers that he was supposed to be benched but was not and went out and scored 4 goals that night in a game that no one was giving The Habs much hope in winning - maybe lightning will strike twice....

After Thursday's game, during Gainey's press conference someone asked him about this.

The reasons were two-fold:

With Markov coming back from back spasms, Gainey wanted to take no chances and dress seven defencemen.

The decision on which forward was going to make room for dressing 7D came down to Perezhogin and Bulis.   And of late, Gainey found that Perezhogin was playing better than Bulis.
