Habs/Leafs Game thread

Haven't seen Spiderman's usual post, so let's start one here.

4-0 Habs after one.

Great first period.  Everyone played well.  Probably Bonk's best period this year - at both ends of the ice.  2 for 2 on the PP.  Looking good.

More good news! Seems that Bouillon is riding the bike hard and that can only mean a quick return! Let's hope we can stay healthy and playing like tonight for the rest of the season.

With the score now 5-1 after two periods, the Leafs sole goal came on the PP.  The Leafs haven't scored an even strength goal in 5 games!!!!

Correct.  Atlanta gets 2 points, Jersey gets one.  Damn!

Still, they cannot control what went on in that game.  In this game, they did all they should have.  One of their best wins of the year.

Everyone played well.  (Well, most of them - Ryder and Zednik looked a little bewildered out there).  Good to see Kovalev show up tonight.

We didn't see too much of Markov once they had the big lead.  I thought Streit did alright on the PP.

And Huet - what can you say?!  Awesome.

Four goals in the first period (two in 12 seconds), and it was all she wrote.

Great victory by the Habs, david.  Did you tape the game?

Can't believe I missed all but the first five minutes of this sweet victory (though I got to hear about those first two goals). Great win! Great stuff! Good to notice Kovalev putting points up there.

I missed about four minutes of the last two periods. Who were the three stars as I missed that also?

Those were the stars at the Bell Centre.  TSN had them as:

1 Kovalev

2 Huet

3 Souray

These made more sense to me.

I'm not complaining about a 5-1 win, but it's a shame Huet lost another shutout bid on a very fluky goal.

He didn't have to make many hard saves last night, I didn't think; that was great to see when we need him to play practically every night.
