After 5 minutes of tonights game, gonna change your tune yet or what?  Lets hope they make our goal smaller with this guy in it.  Or maybe make the Pens shoot beach balls, just like Quenville said.

Radio said the 1st goal wasn't his fault and the second goal he lost his balance in a scramble. He has also made some big saves so far. Don't point fingers so quick and let this guy get used to the team and the new D around him.

Not 1 good save yet, and 3 garbage goals, bring back Huet.  I am sure he will be in next period.

Sory habby, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when I watch him I have no confidence he can stop the puck. Thats just how I felt watching Theo. Listen there is nothing more I wanted than to have two hot goalies in Huet and Abby. Going into a playoof run having two hot goalies would have been great. It is not going to happen so we trudge on. On ward and upward. We need these two points badly. I hate to see it squandered. Huet should have had the start in my opinion. It was BGs call and he made it so now we have to live with it. We need to get the guys playing better defensively in front of him. This game at this rate will be 8-8 by the 3rd period.

Give the guy a chance...It's his second game...He needs time to get used to:
1)The City, New Atmosphere
2)His new team mates (who are not really helping)
3)New goaltending coach
I'm giving the guy at least 5 games to get the hang of it...it's too soon to judge...although I understand the fustrations...we need the points...also the game of hockey goes two ways...you need good goaltending but you also NEED to SCORE to win...

Well if he plays like this for 5 games lets get the golf clubs out and dust em off. Every damn player who plays bad has an excuse

COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WHEN HE STARTED THE GAME.   GAINEY HAS NO CLUE.U HAVE TO GO WITH THE HOT GOALIE....HE SHOWED NO APPRECIATION FOR HUET. ..VERY DISAPOINTING.

Hmmm....I'm actually reading words that have logic.

How can you judge a player in 1 1/2 games so far. We gave Theo dozens after dozens of games before we decided he wasn't of value to us any longer. Some of you just NEED to find a whipping boy when the Habs are having trouble...Abby just got here. What's your solution, bring back Danis from Hamilton and give up on Abby right?

I agree, we gave Theo chance after chance and Aeby is playing no worse. Let's give the guy a chance. If anything it's forcing some offense from the guys. that can't hurt.

No he has no clue about what's he's doing...He put Abby in against the best team in the league and he got bombarded. He wanted his new goalie to gain some confidence and did it by putting him against the worst team in our conference.

He has no clue what he's doing..................Gainey = Coach & GM and former Captain of the Habs. He is has no clue what he's doing.

When i read your first post about abby i was surprised because he was named the third star and the replays showed he played a great game aside from little errors. After watching him play this game i agree with you. He played awful, but i don't blame him for tonights loss i blame Gainey for not starting the hot goalie. Abby's GAA with the Habs is 5 nuff said

Sorry. I don't understand your post. He wanted to give Abby a chance to get his confidence back against one of the weakest team. He saw the opportunity. It didn't work but would you of guessed that they would score 5 on him tonight?

WAKE UP CALL, WHEN YOU PLAY A TEAM LIKE THE PENS, WHO CARES WHO YOU PUT IN NET, THE HABS SHOULD OF CRUSHED THESE GUYS ESPECIALLY AFTER THEY LOST AGAINST THEM THE LAST TIME THEY WERE IN TOWN...REMEMBER? WHEN THEO LET IN ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF GOALS AS  TONIGHT?

Allright boys.  If you have ever played hockey, you know that you bring the new guy in for an easy game @ home.  You don't start Huet against a crap team, you save him because likely he will play almost all of the remaining games. This was a great opportunity to get Abby's confidence up and it totally backfired because his team played a poor defensive game.  They had a lot of chances to win this one and couldn't do it.

Really? It's hard for me to go to that extreme. It can't be that he was the no. 1 in Colorado and this is the best he has to give. One more game. It just can't be.

You see, I was thinking about the 2 pts. I was more concerned with the win. We needed these 2 pts in the standings.

So was I. The 2 points were the only thing on my mind escpecially when I saw that Atlanta lost. Who would of guessed? What a real dissapointment.

if the habs were a lock for the playoffs i wouldnt care as much

Good point.
I still wanted Huet for this one because I thought we needed to pull out of a 2-game losing streak to get confidence for the final push. I just thought it was a bigger game than apparently a lot of the Habs did.

yeah and im getting sick of all the excuses the Habs are making recently.  Wake up boys, the playoffs are there for us, get your head out of your a*****.  There is no excuse for losing tonight against an AHL team, let alone three times this  year.  The game was on CBC for crying out loud, no wonder they keep playing the Leafs games.

Like I mentioned before, it's up to Gainey to pull him in this game to save his confidence from going south if the teams not playing well and he's shaky. It's wasn't a bad decision to play him but probably was to leave him in there.

I have to agree with you. I've watched practically every single game played over the past 5 years & have never seen such appalling goaltending EVER!!! .... even with Theo's demise.

Abby skates out to the blue line to clear pucks, he never moves his damn blocker or catcher to make the save (it literally has to hit him for him to save it), he flops around in the net like a fish out of water (he's always losing his balance), he never sees the puck coming at him (even with a clear & open view) & he gives up huge rebounds constantly. Have I missed anything?????

It looks like Abby has never played organized hockey before, let alone professional. I would have rather kept Theodore as our back up... even as bad as he was doing. Was Abby worth the straight up even trade for Theo??? Not a chance.

You watch... Theo will light it up in Col. & Gainey will look like a giant Dumb@$$. Does BG even have a clue?

During last nights game I found myself ready to vomit when they started Abby. So much so I had to run for the Gravol to get through the first 5 minutes. Half way through the 2nd period I grabbed my bucket & nausea wristbands.......by the end... I was praying to the porcelain gods. (Not really but wow... what an awful goaltending performance) Why didn't BG pull him???? Does he realize we are running to keep our Playoff spot??? It's been 13 years since our last cup.... that's our longest drought ever.

As for our Defensive playing.... yes it could be stronger, I do agree, but when you have to rely solely on your defensive play to keep the pucks out of the net, it's time to pull the goalie & start Huet.  Huet doesn't seem to have a problem with our defensive play.

As for needing more scoring chances.... We got 4 beauty goals last night, not the weak frickin' goals the Abby let in. My 10 yr old daughter could have goaltended better then him.

Please don't rely on listening to the game or watching highlights to make your conclusions either, you must see this crap with your own 2 eyes. (But then you'll want to poke out your own eyes, trust me) Did you notice that Abby laughed after one of these fluffy goals the Pens got? He thought it was funny?? Well tons of fans (including myself) don't find him amusing at all.

Gainey better change his strategy & fast. If he screws up our post season chances, he won't even want to show his face in or around Montreal.

TO BG ~ Huet & Kovalev will get us there, use them, don't sit them.

(we're up ****s creek without a paddle), we're in the middle, should we play for the cup! or go for the first round draft pick WHAT TO DO!, LORDY LORDY we can't even beat the penguins!.

Is it 10 goals in 2 games, correct me if i'm wrong...this guy didn't come from a minor hockey team,4 goals you would think should win you a game of hockey ,especially when the habs scored 4 goals in 3 games previous to this game i never seen the game, but as i said in another post don't like abby he's a flopper like thebouit (can't spell that name lol) he's had enough games with colorado, he's just a terrible goalie. But the positive side is we got HUET,we're in a playoff race now they can go with the hotest goalie Thank you vedy much  "GO HABS"

Thanks for feeling my pain LOL  To sit by and watch BG dismantle a team that is trying so hard to get the job done... it's depressing.

Here's a thought.... Maybe the team is playing badly for Abby because they figure why bother??? We need Huet... at least right now we do. I hope Gainey comes to his senses real soon.

BTW ~ I am the wife of RWP2LE, I just felt he didn't get the point across as strongly as it needed to be. So I added my blurb

Well, I hope you'll be a regular contributor.  A husband and wife Hab-fan team - how cool is that!
