This is a serious question too. You know I look around at Boston 30 plus years no cup. We are Habs fans and are spoiled when it comes to the cup. I am really beginning to wonder about our next Stanley Cup. Its been 13 years, I cannot believe its been that long. So heres my question to everyone. As a Habs fan, what is your gut instinct as to when we will be hoisting the next Stanley Cup banner to the rafters?????

 great question David, wow the next time we win a cup,  I want to say in the next 5 years but there is nothing in the minors to get excited about and the drafts for the next few years don't look very deep, except for Traverse, and we won't get him because were not that bad too finish last.  So I just don't know, but one thing for sure this team has been very average for way too long.  Even the leafs have had better shots at winning the cup and have had players in the top 50 in scoring.    I JUST DONT' KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As soon as we settle our goaltending problem, our down the middle problem,our d-man problem and our scoring problem.(Hope this helps)

Not until the lovefest with #11 ends.


...then we'll need a true anchor on defense...an Ace in the middle...an elite goaltender...and guys like Higgins, Chipper, Latendresse, Komi and Perezhogin to reach their full potential!


The short answer to your question is AT LEAST 5 years!

2 years... with a vetern leader as number 2 center( Koivu)...trust me. I just know it!

For the Habs to be in a position to be Stanley Cup contenders.  We will need to have number 1 star center, offsensice defensemen and solid goaltending.  While we have a decent team, none of the players that we have today can take us to the next level and the minor ranks doesn't look promissing.  I would have to say that it will be beyond 5 years, which would be under different management and coaching.

The Habs have wona  Cup in every decade, so they will win one before 2010; I say 2008.


That would be serendipitous - and don't we all love serendipity?

 Now, I'm totally depressed! AB can't wait five more years for success. Somehow Gainey has to stick with his six year plan that started three years ago.

You know the old saying watch for what you wish for ecause you may get it. I got some great replies, but I do not know if I can wait 5 years. Can u imagine 18 years between cups   wow
