Just what I was thinking. We finally have a game where we have more PPs than PKs and we waste it. Great job by the boys of not taking silly penalties, but to to only go 1-8 and also allow a SH goal? I heard on the radio that we were not playing as hard as we should have, but it sounded like we were getting a lot of scoring chances, so a frustrating game for sure. We needed to win the this one like we needed to win the Toronto game... I am getting the feeling that we are not coming through in the big games and that does not bode well for the playoffs. I also felt this way earlier in the season, so I hope they can find a way to turn this trend around.
Take er easy boys, lets not get ahead of ourselves here. We have been playing alot of hockey, almost every second night, came off a 6 game road trip with a good record. The boys are starting to feel more confident. But i think T.B are just getting worried that they might get pushed out, so i'm sure they were extremely pumped for this game and looking at it as a must win. 2-1, its all good, lets not panic here. We still have some important games with the leafs coming up....our pp hasn't really let us down this year, and of course your gonna have your games where you go 1for8, some night you might go 0-12, it happens, but lets stay positive, CHEERS AND GO HABS GO....
Well, I am certainly not panicking and have full confidence that we will make the playoffs. My concern is doing some damage in the playoffs. If we can't pull out the big games now, then there is little chance we will pull them out in the playoffs. Habs need to get over that hump.
the powerplay ,hell the habs havent scored an even strength goal in 3 games
Exactly, we're living in La La Land.
One off night - thats' ok / two off nights - we start paying more attention / Three off nights - we have to get concerned about it. We have teams sniffing at our backs and just 2 days ago we were discussing that the Habs could shot for 6th place. I said they should just concentrate on winning, now I feel like their in a semi-comfort zone.

Look back at some of the recent games where we actually did score some goals. Game against the Islanders Garth Snow was horrible (5 goals on 22 shots). Last game against Tampa John Grahame was horrid. Even the Leafs game we only managed 3 against Eddy and he was horrid. I am not trying to poo poo on our parade here. Just to point out that the win column can be quite deceiving. Remember when we went into the big slump before CJ got canned? Many habs players responded by saying "Well we won alot of games early in the year that we had no business winning". That is where we are at now I believe.

My issue with some of thestatements on this thread is that: When we get goals it's because the other goalie sucked, but when we don't get goals it's never because the opposing goalie did well, it's because we can't score goals. When we win it's because our goalie stole games, not because the team played well. When we lose games we should have won, it's not up for discussion that we played well: "only the results matter, boys"...but when we win, it's like "well we really didn't have any business winning that one".
I just find the logic is getting a little skewed towards the negative at times. Inappropriate when the Habs have played quite well in about 8 of the last 10 games.
