Great News!!! Just Had To Share!!!

Many of you know i am currently trying to get in at Algonquin College for their Television Broadcasting course. The course requires all applicants to take a test on vocabulary comprehension, reading comprehension and writing and a 80 question multiple choice test on current world issues, geography and history. I recieved my results today and here is how i did. In each category the scores go from 1.0- 12.9 ( 1 being low and 12.9 being Above Average ) i scores a 12.7 on Vocab, 12.9 on Reading and 12.6 on writing. Talk about a major confidence booster!! This however doesnt mean i am in, it just helps my chances alot!!! Hope the next letter i recieve has good news!!!

How bad do you want it? You'll get in if you want it bad enough...just look at your scores.

I wish you luck.  I remember how exicted I was to get into Centennial College's Radio and TV broadcasting program.  It was a great experience.

Well, i can assure you that the next couple days/weeks...however long it takes...its going to seem like forever!!! Its already long enough waiting for the 30th ( habs game ) now im excited for my letter too!!! This year has definately been a crazy one!

Don't get too excited - you might end up on CBC covering the Laffs during intermission. You might have to ask Ponokoroski how he felt the team's play was during sush and such a period and what might be key for them to mount a comeback. Or if he misses Jerkoski.

Yeah, make sure you're totally bilingual Johab, because at this rate there will only be Leafs coverage in English by 2010. And Ottawa will have moved to Myrtle Beach.

To get the job i want, which is for TSN, im going to have to get use to the Toronto bias. BUT I think it would do their network good to have a different view ( i.e. habs fans ) to maybe bring some more viewers haha but yeah, I mainly want to be either in Jay Onrait's position ( Morning and or night Sports Center) Or somehow get Bob Mackenzie's job...that would be a hard one!

What exactly do you do in a school like that? Is it more focused on reporting? on journalistic writing? or is it more about the TV and radio presentation part? Are we talking to a future Ron MacLean or a future Murray Wilson or a future Pat Hickey or...?

More Ron MacLean. The course is mostly about the presentation of information. It also however touches on all the technical part of it such as lighting cameras sound and also creativity. ( all of those i have pretty good knowledge of being i am our schools Lights and Sound technician for all school activities. So i dont lack any experience with the equipment.


Im not sure if there is a reporting part where we have to find the stories ourselves. Thast sounds more like a journalism course, but if we go near that, i will be fine as this site is great practice and i even wrote my own blogs for Mario for a bit which people seemed to like a lot too. Either way, i cant wait to hear from them and get my answer
