Are you guys listening to yourselves?! This is the board i know and love. Theres still negativity...BUT, it is the thought-out negativity. No one is making stupid presumptions or throwing around garbage. Much nicer coming here again!!! Now As for MY positives heres my list
1) Turn around of players Games- Ribeiro, Komisarek, Souray Zednik. These guys have been great for us lately. Mainly Ribeiro. The guy is getting involved out there and is showing ALOT of heart!!! Way to go. Komisarek is showing much more confidence, is throwing the body around and is playing much more time, which showings gainey is confident in him aswell. He is still taking some stupid penalties BUT, that eventually will stop with time. Souray has regained his meanside and is also scoring goals. Souray is back to his unstoppable form of early 2003-2004 season. Zednik has been much more effective and not as much of a defensive liability. Way to go guys!!
2) Goaltending- No longer a ....negative issue. The contract is gone, and we have at least 1 goalie we KNOW can play well. We are yet to see how Aebischer is in net for us.
3) Team looks like a team! Rivet and Souray have both REALLY stepped up and look like REAL "A's" out there!! The way they show example, lead the team and take some weight off Saku's back is really helping. They are all smiles together and when it comes to game time, its serious! The guys are also sticking up for each other now! Im pretty sure the old team would have let all 5 Bruins at Ribeiro BUT the ENTIRE line that was on the ice were all over the bruins this includes Rivet, Souray, Begin and Boullion ( Im not sure why 3 defenseman we're on the ice at the time....) Point is the team is sticking up for each other. Somethineg that shows they are a TEAM now.
4) 60 minute games- We have lately been able to play full games, solid at each position. We still have to work on the stupid penalties, but thats much easier to control than other issues we were facing earlier this year.
5) Continued GREAT play of our Rookies!!- Higgins and Plekanec and Perezhogin have been outstanding ( in my opinion in that order ) Higgins is a keeper and one day WILL be a star in this league. He has everything you look for in a player and is showing future abilities to lead a team. If he is still around went he is in his 30's. I wouldnt be suprised to see if he was wearing the C. What a kid!!!
6) Record since February started. 7-2-1-1....That means in a month and a half, we have only not registered a point twice!!! Now i dont know about you, but i think when a team is trying to catch a team that is playing this well, it gets fustrating and eventually gets to you mentally and then physically. You try to hard to win and make mistakes that cost you.
Hopefully our habs can keep this up right into the playoffs. WE have shown that there is no team ( other than i think carolina) that can control us in a game. So ANY opponent in the playoffs could be an upset!! GO HABS GO!!!

Great post, Johab! I like the positiveness too. (I hope it survives today, even if the Habs lose tonight. Which they won't - in the spirit of positivity.)
As to why there were three defensemen on the ice - the Bruins had a delayed penalty, so Huet was on the bench for the extra skater. Hence six skaters on the ice; why an extra defenseman rather than an extra forward I don't know.

I love the positvity here right now. With the exception of a few people, everyone has turned face, and believes that we are in the playoffs (something people were saying wouldnt happen at the Olympic break.
Good post Johab. Just like the players, the deadline is a stressfull time for the fans because we don't want to lose favorite players. I was worried we would lose Souray, Bulis and even Zed. I'm glad they're still here and glad that the Habs had the best road trip of the season. It couldn't of came at a better time.

You said it absolutely right AB. For once we are in total agreement.
