The first 50 games, Zednik was carrying the puck over the the blueline and trying to dangle around the opposing teams D. Maybe that had something to do with the new rules and Zednik was receiving the stretch pass, and carrying the puck over the blue line. Maybe you can blame his centre, for distributing the puck to him to early on the rush.
The past 6-7 games, Zednik has been getting the puck down low. Using his biggest asset - his LEGS. When he uses his legs below the icing line, takes one hand off his stick to fend off D, he is an absolute bull. He creates chances for himself, his linemates, and draws penalties.
Hopefully the Zednik of old is here to stay, there are not too many D in the league who can handle him down low.
Did you watch that poor rookie Boston defenseman try to get the puck off Zednik and finally give up and take a penalty in the 3rd last night? That was the Zednik we know and love. Now if he can just remember how to roof the puck.

Would you say that Zed is our Power forward? I think he has to be our strongest forward on his legs. Very hard to knock off the puck.
i agree zednik looks to be back.....i think he has just got his confidence back and he has less pressure playing on the third line then he did on the first. i'm not saying that he could not be back on the first line, just that it was a good move to give him a role with less pressure until he found his game.
he definately is "our" power forward with his great leg strength but is not the prototypical power forward.....a real power forward hits and can take and give beatings in front of the net.....maybe even drop the gloves on occasion. zednik lacks a few of those characteristics.
none the less, we need him to continue elevating his game for the playoffs.
