I watched the habs game on tsn and Pierre Mcguire and I can't remember who else called the game, my point was the game was called completely fair. Including, Pierre Mcguire ripping into Alex Ponkerusky ( what ever his name is) about his dive and how he laid on the ice trying to draw a penalty. Mcquire got so enraged when he did not miss a shift and Ponkerusky was out there bouncing around.

So for all of those who ripped into Tsn calling them the Toronto Sports Network, you should of watched that game on TSN last night. It was nice to see the Habs and Leafs play on station that was not biased to one side.

Actually I have to agree with you. I was thinking the same thing last night. What a change over Cole and Neal. I actually like Pierre McGuire. I do not always agree with him but there is no disputing that he knows the game of hockey and I respect his opinion.

I cannot totally agree with you. McGuire and Miller are objective, no quesstion. Unfortunately, the slant to Toronto during the intermissions was over the top. Constant references to what the Leafs will do at the trading deadline, with scant attention paid to Montreal. An interview for an entire intermission with John Ferguson, who in essence said nothing. Constantly referring to Toronto's potentail playoff status and virtually no commentary at all on Montreal's chances to move up in the standings. No tsn has a long way to go before it loses its name as the Toronto Sports Network.

I agree with you, Andy.  TSN is very obviously a Toronto network, and last night before the game and during intermissions they spent 90% of their time talking about the Leafs.  But during the game itself, I thought, as you did, that the reporting was fair.  And I'm even warming up to McGuire; honest!

McGuire is a Montreal native, and I did mention twice or 3 times that he is a great commentator, and completely unbiased. Its a relief to see that coming from a TO based station.

Mcguire is best commentator right now. Hands down. Listening to him 3 times a week on the TEAM 990, is something many montrealers look forward to. He always seems to have the inside scoop not only on the Canadian teams but almost all the teams throughout the league. Vote McGuire!

I watched the game on TSN , and for the first time (thanks to pierre)enjoyed the announcers. the game was called fairly , but, the refs seem to have a problem with the habs and didn't call the game fairly( 6 calls in a row, even two at once). granted, the habs deserved some of them, but not all!! AGREE or DISAGREE?

I totally agree that the intermissions were full of Leaf-centered nonsense. But the game was called down the middle. However, Maguire has made some ridiculous statements in the past, even though I like him.

Anyone ever notice how he seems to be personally acquainted with every personality in the NHL? He's always making comments like "when I coached him in junior"...

Ok but hold on, the arguement was about commentators the other day. Not how TSN broadcasts their intermissions. I am not French speaking but I am pretty sure RDS would not have John Ferguson on over Bob Gainey in an intermission.
