I went to the old-timer game with my young uncle and then we had VIP passes in a lounge where all the players met after the game.
Lanny McDonald, Gaston Gingrass, Glen Anderson were polite but the guy that I enjoyed conversing with the most was Kirk Muller. He came and sat with us for a bit. Just myself, my uncle and Kirk. I commented on how much of a huge factor that LeClair and himself were in the 93' Cup drive. His response was that Demers told his line to be strong on the forecheck and try to pop in a few. He said the other players were calling him and LeClair " Our Power forwards" so we couldn't let the team down. I said they had such huge timely goals especially in OT. He said, we tryed our best and so glad it worked out well. He said, he loved playing for Demers and that Demers treated the players with so much respect that no one wanted to let him down. They all loved him!
He just seemed so down to earth and humble. He explained that playoff season like he was such a small part of the puzzle.
It was only about a 5 minute meeting but I'll never forget it. I was so inspired by his class that I forgot to get an autograph. Isn't that a brain cramp?
