Jay- puhleeeeeeease tell me that as a ref, you do NOT call the old "Diving/Tripping Double Minor" like they did last night on Brian Savage last night? What a cop out that is for the refs!!! It has to be either a trip or a dive...it cannot be both. To me, too many refs have resorted to this call to save their a$$es. Much like the rule where if the puck goes over the glass it is an automatic penalty (takes the onus off the official to make a judgement call). The call on Savage was an obvious dive in my opinion. Was he touched by a stick? Sure he was. But someone needed to tell Savage that the Oscars were the night before.
